How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I didn't like that I booked 6 months+ in advance and the first room they gave me was small, on the main floor and facing the road. Resulted in me paying for a room upgrade. Not sure if I was assigned a terrible room because it was an early booking.com reservation that was much cheaper than what the room rates ended up being. As with all hotels in Austria. Seems that a/c is capped for temperature. Room was too warm.
The hotel was clean. Staff were friendly. Ate at the restaurant which was very good. Train station was moderately close.

It was a shame the swimming pool and terrace was shut as the weather was wonderful and we would love to have been able to sit outside and use the facilities
Lovely room, good location and view from the room. Staff on reception where great and really friendly. We asked for some recommendations of places to eat and they were able to give some suggestions.

They did some construction work over the pool making noise and there was no place there to sit and have a drink properly though the weather was perfect.Too expensive breakfast while they could just offer it due to their famous brand for free.

Spacious rooms with river view. We really liked the executive lounge. The self-service store is useful and very convenient. Very good room service. Getting to the city center is quick and convenient.

The air conditioners were not working well. Just the blowers were working without any cold air coming out of them. It was 25 degrees and getting a little uncomfortable at night to sleep without a properly functioning AC.
Big rooms, comfortable beds, close to underground, good breakfast spread.

There seemed to be some issue with the A/C but it must have been a temporary problem.
Breakfast is excellent. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is very nice and easily accessible via car or public transport. Staff is polite and professional

Seems leaning more towards business audience, yet rooms perfect for families and many were staying. Somewhat limited dinner choices, although there is kids menu, which was ok.
Clean, tidy, practical. Good location, staff nice, friendly and helpful. Parking available, not free, however worth it. Public transport near. Beautiful view.

Shower was broken, beds was way soft for my liking.
Location by the river, staff members were kind and helpful. Breakfast was really good. Staff at the breakfast, restaurant were really friendly. Was easy check in and out at odd hours.

No espresso machine in the room, water bottle was not replaced after arrival. The breakfast is too expensive, particularly when compared to lunch and dinner.
The waterfront rooms have a great view and are nice and large.

It's not walking distance to much, but this does mean the hotel is quiet. And it's very easy to walk to the train station (Stadion). I was visiting for a conference at the VIC and it's not really walkable (I thought it might be) so I ended up taking two metro lines instead.
The breakfast was busy but had lots of options, including eggs, cured meats, salad, yoghurt, fruit, nuts and seeds, pastries and juices. The hotel was clean and organised. The room had tea/coffee, plenty of outlets, and an iron and ironing board. The shower wasn't super strong, but totally fine and all the soap/shampoo/conditioner you need is provided. Right next to Das Gym, which is a big plus if you know...
