How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Fantastic location and view, high quality beds with perfect matrass (medium firmness), very comfortable modern rooms. Nice pool and staff.

a bit awkward separation of the WC and the bathroom :) if you like your privacy in the WC, it will be uncomfortable.

First room 206 above the kitchen with kitchen odors and noisy. Than an Austrian band played loudly all evening. Not quiet at all. Then we moved to the front of the hotel and had a wonderful view down to the lake. Quiet. Problems with no-milk food due to intolerance though. The "no problem" turned out to be a meal without starter soup and no vegetables at all for the main course, only Rösti and fried chicken. Very poor performance: "this is what the kitchen gave me" said the waitress. Room for improvement!!
Very friendly staff, all the free facilities for kids and grown-ups like mini-golf, swimming pool (with partly open roof), trampoline etc. Free spa-area. Free charging of our hybrid car. New and very good e-bikes for hire. Beautiful terrace with great view. The dining room in local style with a lot of wood, even in the ceiling.

Wi fi a bit spotty, just one soft pillow.
A very nice hotel in an amazing location on a hill with an excellent view of the lake. The room was a good size and clean with a nice balcony. Good breakfast that you can serve on the amazing outside terrace.

No Air conditioning.
The hotel sits on a green hill and enjoys a breathtaking, first-row view of the valley below and of the lake - especially from the generous terrace used for breakfasts and dinners. Our 3-night stay was absolutely great. We felt welcome right away as we were so lucky to get upgraded to a family suite with view on the lake by the management. So did our dog who stayed with us and enjoyed the green, pristine hills surrounding the hotel, to the point of meeting - and chasing - a deer on her first walk at our arrival. The hotel management seems family-run and was exceptionally friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was fresh and varied. Altogether an amazing value for the money! The Attersee lake - just a few minutes drive - with its clear, turquoise waters and green, mountainous surroundings overwhelmed our senses. And so did the city of Salzburg just a 40min drive away. We can only recommend this hotel!

The location of the hotel is great, easy to reach by car and within close driving distance to the lake and hikes. The hotel is very nice with beautiful views. Everything was clean, the room and the bathroom very modern, breakfast had lots of choices, the receptionist was very nice and helpful. There is a beautiful terrace with the view of the lake where you can have your breakfast or a drink in the evening. Our room had also balcony with a lake view. Everything was perfect. I would definitely come back.

This was the best hotel that we have visited in Austria so far! The staff was awesome, always helpful and in really good mood. Everything was clean and new. Guests can have breakfast or dinner on a terrace overlooking Attersee; barbecue dinner on the terrace was unforgettable! We have always enjoyed our meal; go for the optional four course dinner - it is really worth it! Looking forward to going back!

The sauna was superbly equipped with many different beds (some that could be heated), a fireplace and star-like lights on the ceiling but none of these things were activated or could be turned on. Maybe that's only the case during sauna season in winter. The TV was hidden behind a wooden plank which was a part of the foot-end of the bed, so you could not watch comfortably while lying in bed.
Friendly and motivated staff, lots of facilities that keep you entertained even during bad weather (billiard table, mini-golf course, sauna, indoor pool, fitness room - all free of charge). Very quiet surroundings and offering a beautiful view of the lake. In the morning and evening from you can see rabbits and deer in the backyard that come out of the forest. The room was very spacious.

Maybe too much "family oriented" in case you are just an independent young couple. It was amusing to have the table set as "Family X" although you are not a family, not married, no kids. Dinner from 18:00 to 19:30 in summer, when it's still bright and hot outside was also funny (way too early!!!). As stated, a good hotel but a bit pricey for what it is (3* with basic ammenities).
It was all very nice, going back 50 or 60 years to how hotels used to be. All spotless clean and very well maintained, but definitely looking quite "retro" (building, decoration, etc). Staff was excellent, location was unbeatable, with excellent views of the lake on top of the hill.
