How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was very comfortable and decorated to a high standard. The choice and quality of breakfast was excellent. Great service also. The team on the front desk were extremely helpful and Julian and Sam in the cocktail bar were fantastic. Great experience in a super hotel.

There is nothing I did not like.
We cannot praise this hotel enough….. it is outstanding in every way. Staff were excellent and always friendly yet professional. The decor was fascinating and beautiful …had a humorous edge too…loved the place. We travel a lot around the world …this hotel is brilliant.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff in this hotel - all of them went above & beyond in every aspect to make us as welcome & comfortable as possible. The decor was fabulous & made for a very special stay. The breakfast was very high quality. I would definitely stay here again & would recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna.

The room had a smell, kinda like of a wet rug. It was mildly annoying.
The room was big and clean, with a big TV. The centre and the galleries are in the walking distance.

It was a pity there was no spa pool or sauna/ hot tub in basement, but do understand that costs and space may be limited
The breakfast was a very good, providing a fantastic selection. The waiters were extremely helpful, sociable and understanding. The cocktail bar staff in the evening were fantastic and knowledgeable . The decor and design of the boutique hotel were beautiful, stylish and elegant. It was nice to stay in a hotel with clout, wallpaper and tasteful design.

Would have liked some information in room re facilities (breakfast time , laundry etc) , I know we were probably told when we checked in but was tired and not really paying attention. I wanted to call reception one evening but couldn’t find number (tried usual 0/9) The room was small but was fine for a 2/3 night stay
Good choice for breakfast , buffet and menu, service was always quick and staff very friendly and helpful. Good location, we were able to walk to a lot of the places we wanted to visit and close to transport links for further afield. Lovely bar with great choice of cocktails. Would stay again

There was only one entrance into the hotel and it was often filled with guests and/ or staff smoking. It would be great if they designated a smoking area a little further away so that non smokers didn’t have to walk through the smell etc
