Parking is rough in Salzburg in general. Make sure you reserve a parking spot with the hotel. They provide good instructions for driving into the pedestrian area if you are driving. If you can travel by train or plane, I would recommend that.

I loved this place. I've been to Salzburg many times and this was the first at Altstadt Kasererbrau. The hotel is everything you would expect in Altstadt Salzburg. Everything is in walking distance including the castle. Quiet little area with a great Italian restaurant next door (awesome pizza). The rooms were larger than I expected given the age of the building. Really good experience.

Shower in the bathroom was a little awkward for me. My leg was in a brace which just made having a shower manoeuvring into place difficult. Under normal circumstances, just a little small

Did not stay for long but liked the "old" feel to the hotel. Not a modern hotel that you can visit anywhere in the world and it will be the same. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for our visit. Breakfast was good. If I return to Salzburg, I would use this hotel

We struggled with getting into the bollards, and then we struggled with the parking. Upon arriving at the reception, there was no sense of urgency to assist us immediately, so we were somewhat frustrated, we were tired and it was raining.

The hotel has a wonderful cinema, with so much culture and heritage, and everything was within walking distance. Was a wonderful experience.

Great location, Great hotel. The Austrian wine from the bar is worth a try too.

We had a very squeaky bed in our first suite and we were unable to move without waking one another up. We requested a move and were moved without delay to another room which was great. I could have done with a bottle of water in the room for taking tablets etc I did not see a water fountain in the hotel so we did have to keep buying water.

The Hotel was in a pedestrianised area so it was nice and quiet with great views of the castle and River. You could walk to the Old Town easily and we walked up to the castle too. The hotel building is old so there were some quirks to it and the Reception staff were very helpful with us when we had an issue. The breakfast was well worth adding to your stay as all of the food was fresh and delicious. There was a tea station that you could help yourself to by the restaurant and a vending machine if you wanted a snack (but it was expensive so would go to the mini market opposite). We did try the Austrian wine from the bar/reception and it was surprisingly good and value for money.

The hotel offered a parking, but when we came the parking was full and we had to park 15 minutes by walk from the hotel (paid parking). The breakfast is not very rich and there is a very little room for it. We had to wait for a free table approximately first 10 minutes. The toilets at the reception were disgusting and dirty.

The location is perfect. The hotel is very close to the cathedral. The room had enough space for 2 adults, one child and also 2 dogs. The breakfast is served until 11 am, and the check out is until 12 pm, which is absolutely great!!

The rooms although clean and spacious, are missing some modern conveniences, plug sockets in useful places etc. The shower tap didn't work properly. Staff were friendly overall, but not overly welcoming - check in seemed more hassle than necessary, even though I had pre-sent the info. It also claimed private parking - but it was not part or even adjacent to the hotel, although not too far either.

Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was ok, there was a range of products from continental to hot breakfast but not a full range, and small area. Location was great, building is historic and a point of interest.

Our room was quite dusty and it triggered my allergies. If we would have told the staff maybe they would clean it but we stayed in one night only and didn’t tell anybody about it.

Room left a little to be desidered. Lid for garbage bin in the bathroom kept falling off, there was a leak from the room windows, one bed was more like a wooden board without padding. Breakfast was delicious and bountiful and staff was very helpful. Location couldn’t be better.

Ideal location within easy walking distance of the Old Town, river Salzach and bus stops. Classic hotel room with lovely walk-in shower. The hotel has its own cinema and adjoining is an Italian restaurant. Breakfast was good. Friendly and helpful personnel; thank you Suzanna for your sound advice when our taxi was cancelled at the last minute!
