We understand historic buildings have a hard time with A/C. But we booked this for a family of 4. The upstairs room was literally not usable AT ALL it was so hot. All 4 of us crammed into the small room downstairs. The air conditions unit downstairs was LOUD. None of us slept at all. Honestly, in the summer- you should not book this room for 4 people. The single beds (upstairs and down stairs) were SOOOOOOOO hard. They really were not mattresses, just hard couch cushions with a weird fitted sheet on them. We tried to watch a movie in the cinema but it too was hot so we had to leave. (PS. We are from Arizona USA so we are used to hot- but this was too much).

It was a wonderful location. right in the center of everything! We loved the charm of the hotel in front with the old theatre. The front desk attendants were helpful and lovely. Breakfast was AMAZING. We loved the mimosas! Our suite was clean and modern. The window with a view of the Fortress was very cool.

Because it was very old you can’t expect all the modern conveniences - so it was very, very hot in the room. We had two fans and a portable air con unit - it didn’t work to start, but lady from Reception came up and spent over half an hour to get it to work. She got it to work, otherwise it would have been unbearable. For over £200 a night but disappointed with the fact they didn’t come in to check all ok second night. No shower gel at all and the TV didn’t work.

Liked the location and its history. Couldn’t get more central. Also had off site parking which was great.

Absolutely loved the location and breakfasts! Opportunity to make yourself a mimosa's for breakfast stole my heart. Why not to spoil yourself on vacation? :) Front office desk, especially Leon was unbelievably helpful. My husband forgot his jacket along our home keys in the closet in the room. Leon was kind enough to make sure we get our keys and husbands jacket back. Although the package is still on it's way, we are more than satisfied with this kind of service!

No tea making facilities in room but to be fair there was not much space as room is small and there are communal facilities a few floors down. Bed was made up of 2 singles put together but it kept splitting leaving and uncomfortable gap.

Sarahi, the receptionist was amazing and very very helpful. We had a little issue with our car, and she went over and above her way to help us. Salzburg is an amazing, beautiful city rich in history, extremely clean. The hotel is in an excellent location and beautiful scenery and setting. Our room had a little balcony facing thd hills with gorgeous sound of bells and chirping birds.

Wi-Fi needs to be fixed. It could be the location of our room that the signals were very weak

Location was excellent and right in the heart of old town. Lots of restaurants and sights to see within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Room was comfortable for 4 but Wi-Fi did not work throughout our stay. Staff tried very hard to fix it but couldn’t. Amazing staff went out of their way to help specially Simon.

Wooden floor in hotel room makes noise while walking; Shower glass in bathroom is not 100% dense that a bit water can come out to the floor; Church rings every 15min which is not comfortable for sensitive people in the night

The problem was that the room in the booking.com i paid form wasn't the one I got. It was a totally different room. It was a different old room compared to the one in the photos. The room was looking great in the photos and that's why I booked it.. In my opinion it was expensive.

Location, staff, cleaning. It was really nice. I would recommend it but make sure that the room shown in the photos will be provided.

Room needs renovation. Parking is in garage 300m far from the hotel (not optimal when it is raining)

Great location in old city / pedestrian area near a lot of shops and restaurants. There is also cinema in the same building. Polite and helpful staff at the reception. Very big and comfort room with a nice view of the castle from the window. Small terrace for morning coffee or tea. Better price if hotel arrange parking in garage for you.

The hotel was an old hotel with cinema. Don't worry, even they are one of the oldest hotel.. They do have an elevator. We love our room which is on the top floor with a view of the castle. Breakfast was nice for us. If you would like to stay near the altstadt I would recommend this hotel. The hotel reception staff was very nice too. The hotel parking is on the road opposite to the hotel which is very convenient. For the kino there're also movies with English subtitles but we didn't have a chance to do the movies yet. The hotel is now on renovation but we didn't have any difficulties during our stay.

After 11pm, the reception doesn't work, we can not even ask for a bottle of water in the evening...And the vending machine is broke.
