Amazing hosts and staff very much helpful and will guide you like local. Helped me innsaving money for Pass. Super neat and clean, beds were comfy, too. And oh my my my the location is best, everything is just close by. It's definitely a 10 star property. Hope to see you guys soon

I stayed in a room with six other women. There was enough privacy, however I stayed in a top bunk bed which made it a little less nice than the other beds in the room (which were single). There was no shampoo.

Nicely located and friendly place to stay, it has everything you need and the room design is beautiful and functional. I didn't use the kitchen/workplace but it looked nice and spacious. The other travellers were also friendly.

Just a suggestion, do not leave the locker unlocked with the right code on it when the guest comes to checkin. Miscreants can know the password and use it when the guest is not at the premises. Keep the locker code confidential.

Neat bathrooms and toilets. I’m the individual beds had enough privacy as well in a mixed dormitory.

Nothing I didn't like!

I loved the option to book in a small capacity dorm. The bed design allowed for a feeling of privacy, which made it very easy to relax! The whole dorm design was clearly very thoughtful- having an outlet and a reading light in my bed space was so convenient. The staff was kind and helpful. It was a great stay.

Bunk beds are made private and lockers are big. Can fit hand carry, even two of them. Dorm was quiet during quiet time and kitcheb was well equipped. Customer service and late check in very good and clear.

The stairway is a little cramped and no elevator. Hence need to drag up luggage which is difficult.

Staff is helpful. Location is decent too - 5 mins walk from center. They provide towel foc too which is unique for hostels.

Not much parking spaces available in front of the hotel. There's music until 11.30pm. A bit pricey.

The hostel is clean and equipped with facilities. It's well located in the center of the city. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The common areas around the capsules could do with a end-of-the-season clean up (the wooden furniture felt a bit sticky). Otherwise nothing in particular - just remember it is a hostel and your stay will depend on the guests who stay there with you.

Great location, easy check-in and a super easy access to the hostel 24/7, focus on sustainability. Good lockers.

This is the first time I'm leaving a long negative review for accommodations. I'm giving this hostel a 7 because overall it was comfortable, clean and excellent value for money, and my personal experience is (hopefully) unlikely to happen to other guests. The property "met my expectations"; it was what was unexpected that would make me think twice about staying here again in the future. First of all, I extended my stay for one night, paid for it in person, not through booking.com. When that day rolled around, I received an email after 12pm that the bunk was unavailable - I don't know why, did they accidentally overbook? They instructed me to cancel the night via booking.com and thereby get my refund. Except, as already stated, it was booked in person, not through booking.com. I asked if they could issue the refund via Paypal (I don't have a European bank account....), they replied, yes they could. I haven't received it yet. I appreciate that they recommended an alternative hostel close by. But after a long day of hiking/biking activities, it's a bit of a pain to sort out alternate accommodations, then take all the luggage (a duffel bag, a bike bag and a bike) over to a new place, 500m away. The other things I didn't like about Montagu were that 1) the single toilet and 2 showers are located within the room rather than outside the room. 2) the floor is not level - there's a wood platform somewhere in the middle of the room. When the lights are turned off at 10pm, it's nearly pitch black. This all makes using the toilet or shower at night a little difficult and disturbing for other guests. The first night, not yet familiar with the terrain, I tripped in the dark - I was not expecting a step up. Then on the way back to bed, I had to carefully feel for the step down. For context, I am young, fit and fairly agile.

Montagu has an attractive and extremely spacious layout. Each bunk has an adjacent personal storage with lock. The bunks were very comfortable, and the room was quiet. The kitchen is well stocked with all the pots, pans, bowls etc you might need, even a moka pot and french press. The terrace upstairs offers beautiful views! There is storage space in the basement for bikes and oversized luggage.

I was surprised by the payment of the city tax.

The staff, Jana and Lisa. They have been very helpful and kind. Both girls show great interest in helping, have answered all my questions and provided information at various times of my stay. Equally, the cleaning employee keeps the place with great neatness. I also liked the room and privacy with the use of curtains. The kitchen very well equipped and neat. The central location and ease to get to the airport, train station and places of interest.

For a hostel with a shared room it is quite comfortable and good value for money. Also you can have some privacy using the curtain in the bed. The staff were very nice with us.

The doors weren't locked, we actually didn't have a key, so everyone could walk into.

It's was pretty much perfect! One of the best hostels i've stayed. Its little bit more expensive, but i'd say it's worth it! The bed was veeery comfortable, just amazing The bathroom was only for the room, it was big and very clean. Good privacy. You have boxes for luggage that has lockers. You have curtains for privacy. The kitchen is big and there is a nice balcony with it. The staff was very kind, they helped me have a great time in the city. It's just at the city center. Definitely recommend.

There’s no microwave in the guest kitchen which I think they could have easily added? Also for some reason the room doors themselves don’t lock (only the front door) which meant lower security. My locker didn’t lock properly either. Overall very very nice place though

Beautiful clean rooms, very comfortable with a privacy curtain. The kitchen was extremely sociable (in a chit chat kind of way, not in a party kind of way which was good) and I kept making friends around the communal dining table. Location was good - next to the old town and 500m from grocery store. 20 mins walk from the main train station. Area felt safe.

There were some bugs at the bedroom.

The staff was friendly and they provided timely support when you had to check in lately. There was a water machine in the hostel which saved the money to buy bottles of water hahaha.

Great hostel - good amount of privacy as well as being able to interact with other guests. Very clean and in a great location. Not a party hostel (at least when I was there!) but still felt social. Which was really great to be able to hike and explore. Staff were really kind and helpful

Such a fun, chic and comfortable hostel! One of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We booked a double bed in a dorm and it was so cosy! The kitchen and common area is so well designed with views out over town and mountains. And location in general is brilliant!
