Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Good location. Quite good facilities. Quieter now that the scaffolding yard next door has gone (was really noisy when I stayed in 2022, with scaffolding poles being loaded onto contractor's lorries early in the morning) Great Italian restaurant the Luna Rossa just down the road

SerbiaIt’s a bit too expensive for a dormitory room in a hostel accommodation, but I saw it is a price in Innsbruck. Location is a bit out of the city center, there is tram station just next to the hostel, but still, it would be easier to be in the city center.
I got free transportation card during my stay Innsbruck. Bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower quite good.

GermanyUsual stuff for the 'cheap' hostels: not a city center, sometimes not enough electrical sockets, not 5-star-soft-mattresses. But again, you fully pay this price
Considering it is was the cheapest option in the city to stay, i think it was a very good deal overall! There was a nice free breakfast! The hostel has all the facilities you might need: kitchen, laundry etc. Everything was clean.

SpainThe check out is until 10 and the staff leave at 10 so they expect to be done with all check outs by that time. Mind you, this is a huge hostel. Now I understand them wanting to leave on time but in my opinion there should be staff until later or else say that the check out is until 9.45. I think for 42 euros a night it's a bit rude to basically kick me out saying "we want to go home" when it was a few minutes past 10. Again, I totally get it! But the owners should pay someone to stay until a bit later, you never know how many check outs there can be or whether someone might have some issues. There were multiple people in the reception, surely they could have different schedules? I don't know. Me I needed to get cash (another thing, why is it cash only?) and didn't manage with the ATM right outside so I had to leave them my id and come later to pay when they were back in the afternoon (thankfully I was just switching hostels as it was fully booked and not leaving town). Again this is not against them wanting to leave at the time they're supposed to leave, mostly about the fact that it is badly organized. If you're traveling solo and in the mood to meet people I don't think this is your place, it's too big to have a warm atmosphere, but if you're looking for a quiet place or travel with a group of friends this might be a good option.
I was there for just one night and it was quiet so really what I was looking for. It was clean and the beds were okay but a bit small if you ask me (I am tall for a woman, but I wondered how tall men might fit tbh). The staff were overall nice. There are big lockers that come with their own key which is good. The location is pretty good as it's right in front of the tram and you can reach the city center in around 15 mins. The surrounding areas are nice as well even if not central, there's very nice nature nearby and beautiful views of the mountains (this is mostly the whole city).

IndiaThe common luggage room is not available from 10 am to 3 pm. I could not store luggage after checkout for a short time. Compared to the average price, I find the price higher than expected.
The staff was very good and the place was clean. The connectivity to the city center is good. Breakfast is good.

ItalyAlthough the place is easily accessible with the tram, it is quite far from the city center. Also the reception closing in the afternoon doesn't give you the facility of storing your luggage in case you arrive earlier than 15:00, so you just have to end up waiting at the lobby
The hostel room and the common bathrooms were very clean. The offer of availing free public transport if you stay for more than 2 nights was really great.

GermanyThe WLAN was only accessible in the entrance Hall and no up into the rooms. There was only one plug socket (!) in the shared room. The blanket was too thick for the season. The pillow was uncomfortable.
There is a Bus stop right in front of the host. Breakfast was early, so there was a lot of time to explore the city.

SpainWe were cold in our room (A13). The radiator was on, but not very hot. We mentioned it to reception and they told us that it's an old building and there's nothing they can do. They didn't offer us any extra blankets or an electric heater. If I were staying here again in the winter, I would check the temperature in the room before settling in. If it wasn't for this, I would have given this hostel a 9 out of 10. The reception area and dining room were warm, so the problem is just in the room.
I stayed at the hostel with my family for just one night in December. We had a room with two bunk beds. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Super friendly staff. A good breakfast. Good access from the city centre with the tram stop just outside.
