Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe washing machine didn't work, we reported the problem, but no one came to fix it. Another problem for me was the "Exit" sign above the door that was on (like a real light bulb) all the time. I prefer to keep the door to the bedroom open, so there are blackout curtains, but there is a light that may disturb your sleep. It might not be a problem to everyone, but for me it was one
The apartment is quite small, but great. Very well cleaned, nice design, nice big windows, a park and a Hofer store nearby, three minutes walk to Neuer Dom. The bed is very comfortable and there are enough utensils in the kitchen

GermanyI had to sleep on the couch a couple of hours as our baby didn't sleep well and my wife had to rest. The light of the emergency exit sign was too bright. The bedroom was almost completely filled with the bed and the bassinet. It would have been probably easier to let our baby sleep with us in the bed.
I chose this apartment as it was on the main road after exiting the highway, yet close to the city centre. Both the building and the suit are modern. There is a shop (Aldi) nearby. You can park right in front of the building, but have to pay a fee on weekdays during daytime. (No parking garage belongs to the apartment!)

AustriaHeeting was not on when we arrived. So it was cold and took some hours to heat it (underfloor heating). The parking option is not clearly described. We discovered that there is a space in the on-site underground car park. However, this was occupied.

SwedenThis is only a problem if you want to cook: There was very few utensils in the kitchen. No scissors, no kitchen knives and you can’t use the dishwasher, because there’s only two of cutlery’s, plates and mugs. Using the machine when it’s less than half full would be a terrible waste of water and energy. The sound from the heavily trafficked road is disturbing, especially since you probably want to open the windows.
It was light, clean and fresh, and the bed is very comfortable. We liked it even though we considered it more like a room than an apartment.

Czech RepublicThe only downside was the loud street below. When closing the window it was not so noisy but one of the two windows was probably not isolating very well.
The location was convenient with supermarket Hofer a few steps away, very good Italian restaurant and cafés. The flat had everything it needed for a short stay for a couple. There was a lovely welcome gift for the guests. Appreciated also the coffee and tea. The communication with the customer support was also very easy - the Tv remote didn’t work and we had it replaced the day after.

Czech RepublicQuite small shower cabin in the big bathroom. For me it was uncomfortable to take a shower in such a limited place. I believe that something bigger fits this bathroom better.
Great apartment to stay in Linz. The location is great, with walkable access to the city center and the main railway station. There is a store next to the place and all the needed supplementals are in the apartment

ThailandNo staff at all. All electronics. Help yourself and learn. The bathroom size is huge compared to the living area. Around 30% of the space is the bathroom. Check out is 11h00 so you cannot get into the room after that time.... no parking
Overall ok. Quality of the bed 🛌 good. Good heating 👌. If you want to sleep with open windows you may consider the road noise.

DenmarkAt 23 sqmeters the property seemed a tad "over-furnitured" and we sorely missed an ironing solution; a bit of a miss on business travel. We moved an armchair out into the entrance and then had fine space.
The property is furnished in good taste and we had an easy time there. TV did not work; but we did not come to watch TV. The location is just around the corner from an excellent italian restaurant. And central as promised. Parking was possible all days. Overall we are happy with the stay.
