How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Beautiful location , close to the station, very well maintained to high standards. The owner was very kind, nice and super responsive. We had no car & she offered to drive us to the grocery. Would definitely recommend.

The only minus is that not all trains stop at Traunkirchen Ort stop, which makes the commuting to the nearby towns a bit more tricky. But even that is solved with good planning and willingness to get some extra steps in.
The room was tiptop and cozy as well as well-equipped. Especially normal coffee machine and proper hairdryer got our points. ;) Communication before, during and after the travel was easy. The owners are very customer-oriented. The location is very good and the various hiking and other outdoor activities around the lake are easy to reach. We were traveling solely by train and everything was very convenient!

The apartment is amazing, familiar and great design, the small details and artistic character are great! The guest house is in the best location, shop, restaurant, bus stop nearby, you can also swim in the lake not far away. The staff and the owner are very kind, hospitality surrounds the whole place, I recommend it. We will definitely come back, even with the family.

Very spacious, clean, with all the facilities included (kitchen, bathroom, TV), very close to the beach area, to the restaurant, the bus stop and the ice cream place. The owners were very nice and always willing to help with all the requests we had.

1-It was very warm day, air conditioner would help a lot specially at night. 2-the TV channel was all dubbed and unfortunately we can’t watch for the whole stay 3-the local church bell sounds every hours is very annoying specially after midnight :(
1-The location is perfect, close to the lake and other services- restaurants, store, etc. 2-Apartment was really clean and nice as well as the host is really friendly. 3-we rented 2 units, the big unit 3 bedroom was spacious and plenty space for everyone. Both apartments also fully equipped with everything that we needed during the stay. Our babies really enjoy wondering around in the apartment. 4-everyone really enjoy the stay and had really pleasant holiday specially the location for swimming just within 5 mins walk from the apartment

Perfect location, 100m from a fantastic little swimming beach. Beautifully furnished and decorated apartment, very comfortable in all respects. Christian and Petra were super nice and helpful. We had a great time and hope to come back for a future vacation. Thanks!!

Spacious appartment (no. 6), quality dishes and kitchen utensils, plenty of towels and toilet paper, Illy coffee powder 👍🏻, storage for bicycles, washing machine, free wifi, etc.

Traveling with disabilities and two children can be challenging but, being welcomed and taken care of at Loidl's is smooth sailing! Every detail counts: I found parking space and freezer for my medicines; furniture and accessories both in our apartment and in the building are top quality, location is the best to relax and enjoy Salzkammergut, food is exquisite and, on top of it, Petra's smile will enlight your vacation. We sincerely hope to go back in the future, we had an amazing time

Our expectations was highly exceeded. And we hoped for a lot! :D Area, beautiful terase, design of our rooms, super welcoming hosts, who even arranged a little birthday party for our grandma at our arrival! :-) Pure perfection. We are looking forward to our next visit!

I stayed in this property that feels like it’s brand new) with a group of friends (total of 6 people, 3 couples) and I was immediately struck by Herr Loidl’s attentiveness to our needs. He spent the first 20 minutes describing the different hikes, and places of interest around town. I was also struck beautiful furniture and decor of the place. Waking up with a view of the lake and the incredible Traunstein was an amazing bonus. Thanks Christian, Herr Loidl, for a wonderful stay! Highly recommend.

No mini fridge. As an apartment, it will be great if the owners could place mini a fridge for guests use.

A small fridge is missing (we book an apartment without kitchen). And you only get 3 coffee tabs for 3 persons for a 3 days stay. We did get a coffee when i asked for one on the last day.
Top location. The rooms are big and comfortable. The host is very friendly!
