Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn my second night I came back to the apartment late at night to find an internal door was locked and a plant pot was broken next to it, I couldn't get through to my apartment. I waited in a chair and the owner came out and blamed me for breaking the pot and was calling me a stupid idiot. The police were called and I had to go down to the police station to give a statement. Despite me using the front entrance nine times previously, this apartment expects guests to use a side entrance all the time, if only they'd told us!!!
The location is close to the main ski lifts and the accommodation is reasonably priced.

A lovely appartement 5’ walking from the center uphill. Everything was arranged very well and clear. A lot of closetarea and almost everything in the kitchen incl. dishwasher. When we wanted to contact the owners, it was very easy and they answered very quick (max. 1 hour). We loved our stay!

Germanythe whole house is poorly soundproof. we could hear people outside or other guests at night.
the apartment was clean and had a kitchen with all the necessary supplies and some more (microwave, mini oven, different pans and pots). the bathroom also had towels, soap and some extra mini-products, which was really convenient! It’s close to walk to the city Centre, the train station and the ski lift.

Book skii storage option at your rental rental shop to avoid hauling your gear up the hill at days end.

United StatesThis is not a real apartment. It’s two en suite bedrooms linked by a small kitchen. In other words, there’s no real living area—no sofa or anywhere to spread out and feel at home. I wouldn’t want to stay here with four people, which it is supposedly for. The only place to gather is the little kitchen table, which seats only three. Perhaps okay for a weekend of skiing, but not for a week of living. I was alone, and I arrived to find only one of the double beds made up, with one skinny duvet and one pillow. Since there is no couch, the likely place to read/watch TV is from the bed, but it is hard to prop yourself up with one squishy pillow. I’d like to visit the home of the management and see if this is how they live. I was given one hand towel and one bath towel for the week. One bathroom had a good shower, but the sink didn’t drain well. The other bathroom had the lone drying rack. So I shuttled my one towel back and forth through the kitchen for the week. No matter which way you turn the radiator knobs, the temperature remained at the same low-level heat. Not frigid, but not high enough to ever dry my one towel by the next day. This place is described as in the “heart” of St Anton, which is a stretch. I like a bit of walking, but the trudge up and down the steep hill to the pedestrian zone got old. And it’s a treacherous walk in slippery snow and ice, with trucks, busses, snowplows whizzing by you. They wouldn’t allow early check-in, which I understand if staff is still cleaning. But at least let me drop my bags, like most every other place I’ve stayed. This “apartment” is part of a larger BnB, with storage room at the entrance, so I don’t know why I had to wait with my luggage at the train station for two hours. It’s like this place goes out of its way to make you uncomfortable. (I’m still shaking my head about that lone skinny duvet and squishy pillow.)
WiFi worked well. Shower pressure and hot water good. Kitchen well stocked. Quiet place with a view over the balcony to the ski mountain.
