Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower head was lose and with a curtain rather than a screen the bathroom floor became wet. Things in the hotel were a little worn. The plug socket by the table was too loose to charge my phone.
The location was close to a couple of supermarkets. The hotel looks at least a century old, so it was interesting to stay in a building from that might be from the golden age of Vienna. It is within just over ten minutes walk from the U-Bahn.

HungaryThe walls are thin, so sometimes the noises made by the neighbours are audible. I also found a pair of socks under/near the bed, which remained from the previous guest.
The staff was friendly and informative. The location is excellent, as the flat is right next to a tram station.

I have been many times to pension Vera and every time it has a pleasure staying there. The location is perfect and value per money is super. I have not tried breakfast because around the pension there are a lot of fancy bars and restaurants .

FranceThe central heating in the room worked only in the early evenings and NOT in the mornings. Also we found often coming back to the hotel, in late afternoon, one of the windows slightly open making the room cold. The toilet did not empty completely after pushing the bouton many times.
The room was very big, comfortable and clean. The furniture was very convenient and we appreciated the little fridge. Big windows with open space view and good curtains. In the bathroom, hot water in quantity and central heating.

GreeceThe price could be a little lower but it is not a big deal given that in general the apartments in Vienna are very expensive.
Good location near a tram station and not very far from center for those who enjoy walking. There are many restaurant/bar/cafeteria options nearby. We had the option to pay at the hotel which is good for those who want to plan trips online in advance. Regarding the hotel, as it's name suggests it is a pension so there is no need for high expectations but it's totally worth it for those who come for a couple of days to visit the city and just need a bed for the night. The room we got was alright so I have no complaints and the stuff was super friendly, helpful and willing to speak in English. Overall, I recommend this place for those who consider making a low budget trip in Vienna!

RomaniaOld and outdated furbiture, the fact that window didn't close completely and the old model of toilet.
The fact that it's pretty close to the Christmas Market, 15 minutes of walking.

RussiaRecommend for short stay in the city.
Good option for short stay in Vienna, it's prival pansion in the living building 10 min walk to University of Vienna and the Ring. Rooms are small, but pretty clean, there is a desk, two chairs, TV, and small coffe table. Comfy beds and pillows. Nearby Spar and Billa supermarkets, farmacy, several bars and cafes, where you can take breakfast since 7:30 a.m. Do not expect much from the facility, but you'll find optimal price/value/location ratio in Vienna.

LatviaThe room had a strange smell when we first arrived, but it was fine the next day.
Very good location - tube station and central Vienna in close walkable distance. Food store close by. We loved the old building the hotel is located in. The room was spacious, had a small kitchenette - we could make breakfast and dinner easily in the room. The shower and toilet was in the room - spacious and clean. It was quiet at night. We loved our stay there!

GermanyI found two spiders in my room, not sure how they missed it during cleaning. It's a bit noisy because of thin walls and people banging the doors at all hours of the night. There was no kettle in the room and I was unable to get the TV to work. It gets real hot in the room if the windows are closed.
The room was clean and bigger than normal single rooms. I was there for 2 nights they even cleaned the room the next day. A table and 2 chairs were provided along with a TV and wardrobe. Its right in front of the Tram 43 stop, there are cafes, restaurants and takeaways located within walking distance. Walking distance from hotel to HBF around 1hr and passes through all the main sights. I would choose to stay here again if I ever return to Vienna.
