3rd Stay. Lovely hotel. Located by Truansee which is very relaxed compared to busy Hallstatt.

It was unfortunately quite hot in the room, as they haven’t installed a cooling system yet, but hopefully that will be fixed next year.

Well-run hotel in a quaint little lakeside village. The view from our room was breathtaking. Fine range of products for breakfast. Modernized facilities, comfy bed.

Everything was great. Breakfast was especially rich. Excellent restaurant offer, including national cuisine. I especially recommend trying the lamb schnitzel, it was wonderful. The staff is very accommodating. The place is great. Right on the shore of the lake.

Very good location, the private parking (at a fee) makes things a bit easier. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was exceptional, a la carte dinner was really great too. Extra bed for the kids made things easier.

I would like to have the option of a firmer ( latex) pillow. We hired bikes . One was good with a comfortable seat but the other one wasn’t . It needed a new seat .

The view from the bed was spectacular . The room was very modern spacious and extremely comfortable . We had a bath as well as a shower . Good location , close to cafes and restaurants . We loved the walking tracks in the hills .

We had a very nice experience in the Post am See. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is renovated with very good taste and the breakfast is simply exceptional! The room was comfy and the size was enough for spending a weekend there, even though the bed was way too soft for us. Trankirchen is a charming small village next to Traunsee, so it was a delight to wake up in the morning with lake views.

The hotel restaurant felt a bit too fancy for the experience. We would have appreciated a more down to earth offering in price and portion size - a more upscale restaurant can already be found at the sister hotel 1-2 mins away. The hotel offers a free pickup from the train station - however, due to a miscommunication, the hotel waited for us at the wrong train station (Beware: There are two Traunkirchen train stations. The one closest to the hotel, albeit up a steep hill, is Traunkirchen Ort).

Free kayak and paddle board rentals! We got a newly refurbished room which was very comfortable and spacious. The cake selection at breakfast was great! There is a sister hotel at the lakeside where one can use all facilities free of charge - amazing!

Even though our room was an upgrade, we felt some aspects could have been improved: the mini bar was not working, the Hotel could benefit also from some renovations, and when going to the Spa, there was always a strong food smell from the kitchen as it was just nearby. Also, would it be a nice touch to find other option to store the cleaning items (as they were located in the corridor, only partially covered).

We had initially post am see booked, but as they were on renovations, we were lucky enough to stay at their partner hotel Das Traunsee. The hotel is nicely located near the lake, and we had a direct deck with balcony and lake view. The breakfast was of very good quality. staff very friendly. We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant, where we enjoyed a chef’s menu and wine tasting for each dish. We tried also the restaurant of Post am See, which had a larger menu, and very good options as well. We opted also to use the park at the hotel, which was very convenient.

Bathroom was a bit old fashioned. There was a bathtub which is not visible anymore in this kind of hotels. Unfortunately there were big scratches in it. Nothing really serious. No reserved parking space.

The dinner was not what we expected. There was only one menu and you could only chose between 2 main courses. So if we wasn’t satisfied there was no other option.

spacious and clean rooms rich breakfast with on demand preparation of eggs (best omelettes we ever had) really friendly and helpful staff perfect for biking (scenic routes around all nearby lakes) and hiking (close-by Ebensee - Feuerkogel - lots of nice trails and views), generally there is lots of stuff to do (rent a boat, rent a bike, go swimming, ... ) food was fantastic (best place in area to get a dinner)

Hi, The breakfast was great, but it lacked ketchup and mustard. You'll find marinated fish, truffles in honey and other specialties.

Here on Booking.com the room was described as one that has mountain views. It might be just a question of semantics, because one could see parts of the mountains from the balcony but the majority of the view was taken up by the house next door. Personally, I would not call that one 'a room with mountain views' because it definitely raised our expectations, but we didn't spend too much time on the balcony anyway, so it was not a huge problem for us.

Every single member of the staff we came across was super friendly and accommodating. We had a double room on the second floor which was spacious and had a decent sized bathroom as well as a balcony. The bed was very comfy and there were more than enough space for us to unpack our luggage. We booked half board and both the breakfast and the dinner was amazing.
