A great hotel in the middle of town. We were on a cycling holiday and there was secure storage for our bikes. We had a meal in the evening which was reasonably priced and very nice. The breakfast was great. Friendly and efficient staff.

Walls very thin- tv from next door kept us awake- Next morning could hear neighbor blowing nose ect… and tv going again

Very nice hotel in the center of Melk, close to the monastery and to others shops, cafes, restaurants. The room was very good, clean, confortable. The bathroom is ok, simple but your have all you need. The bed is good, the pillows not great but ok. Breakfast very nice, excellent coffee. Hôtel’s restaurant is very nice, tasty food and correct service, we loved our waiter Joseph, he was very helpful and attentive. Congratulations!

Please be aware that you pay for the bread which is placed on your table during lunch. You also pay for butter portions.

Extremely clean, large rooms. Mini fridge, T.V provided. A nice touch with confectionery on the pillows. The bathroom is well set out and pristine. Great hot shower. Staff were very helpful. Ice-cream at the front was delicious. Central to town. Amazing view to monastery. Only 5 minutes walk to the train station, 10min walk to good selection of shops. Buffet breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner available - large portions. Please note that there are stairs only to the rooms, so if you cannot carry your luggage upstairs, you may need to ask for a luggage valet service (not sure if they provide). Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was fantastic! All staff we encountered were kind, pleasant, and helped with any questions. They also stored our bags after checkout to enjoy our afternoon without hauling luggage.

Beautiful room, but facing the main cobbled street, the rubbish bin collections were very noisey early in the morning.

Welcoming, the building and location in the old town and close to Melk Abbey. Restaurant meal on site was great.

Directions were needed to find the car park.

Very hospitable staff and a cosy atmosphere. Good parking and great food. I enjoyed the beer too. The hotel is right in the middle of the main pedestrian and restaurant area. I would have no hesitation recommending a stay here!

Other reviews had commented on noise from below. We were on the floor right above the restaurant. We were there midweek. Early evening we could hear chatter but by bedtime it was quiet. The first night we both woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke. We have no idea where that was coming from and it was only a problem that first night.

Couldn't ask for a better location right on the square. The parking is much easier than other reviews made it sound. It's an enclosed courtyard and it has a walkway right to the back door of the hotel. We were expecting to walk a few blocks on cobblestone streets with our bags. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety and good coffee and juices. We had a room overlooking the square. It was cool enough to sleep with windows closed. With no AC, I could see it would be a problem on hot summer nights.

Melk is a major tourist draw, and there are a lot of places to stay. We were very happy with this one. The building is very interesting, the location is outstanding with a view of the abbey from our window, it has a good restaurant and gelato on the street. room was spacious, architecturally interesting with arched ceilings, and well appointed. A repeater if we are ever back in Melk.

Superb historic hotel in the main square with parking to the rear , and a nice 2 bed apartment in the annexe where we stayed. Staff were really helpful and friendly throughout , very good restaurant great food and breakfast. 5 minutes walk to the abbey, will definitely stay here again.

Stairs! We're 77 and 78, so managing suitcases up stairs can be a challenge. We did have assistance when we checked-in, so that was great. I should have been more diligent in reading the fine print - NO LIFT. We managed, but an elevator is always appreciated.

This hotel was 'location central' for us. Only a five-minute walk from the train station and sitting right in the middle of the Melk old town. Everything was walkable. Breakfast choices were good. We enjoyed the staff, especially in the restaurant where we experienced lively conversation.

Restaurant staff seemed to forget about us after we had finished our main course. Food was ok but not excellent.
