Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

IndiaPlace is not clean... Toilets are shared by others and most of the time it was clogged and unusable . One of the towel given for us was wet and smelly. So basically it spoiled the mood and raised a lot of questions about hygiene. Originally the room which was given to us is changed at the last minute and it was not very easy to get the keys from the owner. And for that price...this is definitely not recommended

TurkeyI booked this room for my family we are four actually. But there was only one queen bad with proper sheet and pillows to sleep. there was another sofa but no pillows no sheets for my children. There is no crew around and they just send me a message for check-in procedure and key location and there was a contact number I called them several time on both mobile and whatsapp but they didnt reply. So I couldnt learn wifi password and could not use it. I booked this room for only get my children sleept a couple of hours before our early flight but it turned into nightmare to us.

Czech RepublicHonestly cheap. I can see you are poorly prepared for the service like on app. Dirty room. dirty floor. no hair dryer! Can't connect to the internet! fine! I don't ask for much! I can ignore dirty errors! Thank God I found my way to the apartment and slept one night in bed. I think you should prepare more carefully to welcome summer guests! Thanks . no see you again!

CanadaVery bad experience. I got all information about entrance, keys and code at around midnight at the same day as arrival date. Little bit too late !? I was forced to look for another accommodation earlier that evening. It was winter and freezing cold, not a fun experience. No one was reachable via phone, no sign outside and I never got refunded plus the owner has a great lack on communication skills!! Very, very bad company/owner. PLEASE AVOID !!

Czech RepublicIt was very dirty, the staff was impossible to reach The linen was not changed after the last guests, we tried to contact the owners, we wrote, called, they did not answer for a long time, they read messages but did not answer. By 23:00 got through to the owner and we were told to change ourselves, but their "clean" linen was stinky.... New guests arrived during the night and couldn't get into the room for about an hour and the owners didn't answer. It was horrible

HungaryThe only thing a bit inconvenient was that the apartment is a bit far from the city center but that too isn't a super big problem because there are Metro stops all over Vienna so commuting was a piece of cake, so only one point less for the distance, otherwise a solid 9/10 experience! Highly recommended to people on a budget too!
The room was very neat with a pretty great ambiance and even a ceiling RGB LED, which I didn't expect 😅 the kitchen, the bath and the apartment overall, was great! Also, high value for money!
