The transfer - we had to wait so long that we end up walking with all our luggage so by the time we got there we were exhausted. They should have they own transfer van like the other hotels so guest don’t have to wait over an hour to get there and back to the car.

It gets warm there in the summer, would love to have had fans in the room. I totally understand that it's and older building and AC is not possible, but a couple of fans would totally have done the trick.

This was our second time back to the hotel and it did not disappoint. This hotel has the best views in Hallstatt, the food is amazing, and it's worth springing for the lake view.

Everything is amazing at Grüner Baum! We stayed at a room with a balcony, and the views were great!!!!! The room was super spacious and cozy. I will say that the cherry on top was the staff. Zsanett Fenei in particular went out of her way to help me fix a problem I had with a train ticket. She was the best!

We are difficult with pillows and the ones provided were not so comfortable for sleeping. But the staff assured us we can ask as many as we like if we need more.

We had to leave car at parking P1 to wait for hotel shuttle to take us to hotel which is located in pedestrian zone. Upon checking out, Staff did not provide info and we waited over 45 minutes for shuttle bus and eventually walked from hotel back to parking P1. No staff was available between 12 - 3 pm to attend issues.

Convenient location right in the square next to the church and lake pier. Excellent view to the lake.

Water pressure too slow in shower. Breakfast is normal, no good taste in food, especially the coffee. Shuttle bus is not in schedule, we have to wait near a hour but still cannot get the shuttle, we decide to walk 15 mins to carpark finally. I need to complaint about the staff in camp site ( next to carpark 1), we just ask him where is the shuttle bus station. He said, “Here is the campsite area, you should ask it from carpark, not here. Think this with open your ass.” It make me surprise and nervous. I think it related to racial discrimination.

Facilities are good. Beautiful lake view. Good services of the staff of restaurant. Normal services in reception, good in attitude but not in informative.

Limited reception hours. Weak A/C by US standards. They offer baggage storage in reception but not secure as they close from 12-3pm and the reception area is fully accessible by the public during that time (reception is less than 50 feet from main entrance).

Centrally located; very good lake side restaurant for lunch & dinner; reception is only open for very limited hours (8am-noon and 3-9pm) so can be difficult to get help but otherwise a good hotel. Please note check-in time of 3pm is strictly enforced so dont plan on getting a room before then. They do store luggage at reception if needed.

I love the location of the hotel which is very suitable for the backpacking only takes 1 minute to the pier. The staffs are so friendly. The dinner in the hotel is lovely with the best view in the Hallstatt and the dishes recommended by the waiter are all delicious!

This hotel is in the most perfect location. The town is like a fairy tail. The hotel staff are warm and welcoming. The room we had was a balcony and the room was right on the lake. Wish I had booked more nights here. Did not want to leave.

Room had a faint odor of sewage at times. Also, the front office doesnt staff from 12-3. If you arrive between then you have to leave your bags unattended.

The hotel has amazing views and a good breakfast. Its conveniently located right by the dock that takes you to/from the Halstatt train station.
