How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hostel didn't seem very social and I only saw there was a WhatsApp group on the last day. It would be better to have the qr code at the checkin.
Great beds and very large rooms, with a separate shower and separate toilet within the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There is poor ventilation in the rooms, especially at night when the windows are closed.
There is a good outside area for common use and bathrooms both inside and outside the rooms.

Super friendly and helpful staff, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, an outdoor courtyard with benches, tables and comfy sofas that was great on the warm sunny days, a kitchen with good facilities, the Brunnengasse around the corner was really nice, and the hostel was easy to reach with public transportation.

Not the most social hostel, shared kitchen and outside area but no socialising points. Would love to have hostel activities to meet people😊
In a very good location, tram and metro station 5mins from the hostel. 10/15mins takes you into the central districts. Beds very clean and comfortable, bathroom was very clean in womens only dorm. Storage under the bed with padlocks is nice. Quiet at night, only a bit of noise from people coming back late one day.

You were allowed to come early and leave your stuff and use the kitchen wich was pretty nice.

Very nice, clean and comfortable hostel. Easy self check in. All bunks are equipped with curtains and provide guests some privacy. Every unit has its own toilet and bathroom, all the facilities look new and well maintained. The common kitchen is filled with everything that you might need for your stay. The location is within a few minutes of public transport.

I took an 8-female-shared room. Only thing I didn't like is that, there's only 1 bathroom/toilet for not only for 8 people but for the other room as well (I don't know how many people are in there). So the bathroom gets untidy real quick in less than a day's time. I had to wait till 1 am to take a shower because this 1 bathroom is always occupied. I know it is expected in a dormitory, but still 1 bathroom for more than 10 people is a bit difficult.
The bunk beds were comfy and cute. I like the curtain, it stays still and covers the whole bed. There's one long mirror in the room, a small table and a chair, and windows. No traffic sounds at night. It is close to the market, so everything is right infront. Friendly environment, games, food together, everything nice. For this rate, it's worth.

It was kind of cold. Our room was on the ground floor but it not have any privacy. People walk by our room could see us easily. Location is not close to the city center but it is close to farmers market.
people work at the front desk are very friendly. It was quite.

Don't have a heater in the room If you are self-checked after 10 pm it will be confusing on the map.. The kitchen doesn't have oil and salt....
The room space was big The bed was comfy and had the curtain was great! Close to train station and supermarket!

Shower and toilet outside the room, so you have to use code every time to enter. Also they were not clean enough. Beds are not comfortable, for me it was difficult to climb on metal ladder. It was cold at night, I got sick.
Location is convenient, very close to metro station, almost no contact with reception during check-in/check-out.

The pincode for entering the room may be little bit shorter, no need for 7 digit passcode. And the vending machine didn't take my payment and I have paid in the reception which is no problem. I definitely reccomend
