Extremely unfriendly staff We made a reservation for dinner, were told to arrive at 8.30 , we arrived at 8.31 and were told that the kitchen was closed in a very unfriendly way, only our insistence resulted in getting a dinner Dogs were prohibitively charged with 25 EUR , were not allowed even on the terrace and they did not allow as well to leave the dog in the room, so we did not know what to do with the dog I could tell more stories but in summary never ever again

The room was not spotlessly cleaned, small issues like there was hair all over the shower and no trash bags were provided in the trashcans. Our room also was above the kitchen so there was the sound of a low fan all night as well as a path out the back where we could hear people walking past. The room was also kept at an uncomfortably warm temperature with no possibility for air conditioning so with the windows open the noises were even more disruptive.

Breakfast in the morning was amazing with choices available for everyone. Spa was great and had wonderful amenities including multiple pools and areas to hangout. The staff was really nice and accommodating.

Rude behaviour towards guests from staff. Phone calls from the room unanswered constantly. No AC in the room, with outdoor temperature only 23 Celsius the room is warm and cannot be cooled down. No iron, iron board, coffee or tea facilities in the room.

Nice location in 15 minutes from the city center (you can get there by bus, taxi or by feet), good spa (inside and outside pool, whirlpool, saunas, tea, fruits, very nice relaxation rooms). Breakfast offers a large variety of products, you can order different egg dishes. Every guest gets a very nice spa bag with slippers, towels etc. Overall, the hotel is a good option if you want to relax for 2-3 days.

We chose this hotel as we wanted a relaxing spa getaway for a few days. Throughout our stay there were various issues which can be easily fixed but which definitely reduced the quality of our stay: 1. Already the entrance to the hotel was quite underwhelming. No one greets you at the entrance and the hotel was quiet and not lively at all. It's a minor thing but i was greeted only when it was my turn to check in. 2. At the check-in i was told that both the dinner and the spa were fully booked for that evening. My intention was to eat at the hotel and also schedule some spa treatments (that's why i chose a spa hotel after all) but the capacity of their spa is far smaller than their number of guests. If you consider coming to this hotel, book your treatments in advance, otherwise you will be disappointed. And a tip to the hotel- you can inform the guests that due to high demand bookings should be done even before the arrival. 3. The hotel is dog friendly, but only in the room. We entered the breakfast room to eat our breakfast and initially were permitted to sit and a side room away from the other guests. But as we were getting ready to eat a staff member asked us to leave the room, claiming that other guests complained that they weren't permitted to enter with their dog either. If you claim that you are a dog friendly hotel, either offer a solution for breakfast, or inform your guests in advance. 4. Due to our train schedule and a beauty treatment we managed to book on our departure day only, we needed to check out a bit later. My wife went to talk to the receptionist who was very unfriendly and refused to help. We needed to go again twice to ask and eventually one receptionist revealed that there were very little arrivals so it's not a problem at all. 5. Dinner was below average in my opinion. We then decided to eat only outside.

Despite writing a long criticism in the "what I didn't like" section, there were definitely many good things about this hotel: 1. The room was fantastic, very comfortable, quiet, with a nice balcony, a great bathtub and enough space for us and our dog. As we chose this hotel for a relaxing vacation without much outdoor exploration, it was perfect. 2. Room service was great! After unfortunately getting kicked out of the dining room because of our dog, one of the employees was generous enough to bring the breakfast to our room and he was very friendly and also a bit embarrassed about the situation. 3. Housekeeping was also great, the cleaning lady was very friendly and kind. 4. The beauty treatments were very good and relaxing and i highly recommend them (just make sure you book enough in advance). 5. The views are very nice and we did like the location of the hotel. We relied on taxis throughout our stay but it was very easy. Walking around was also very nice. There's also a nice restaurant near the hotel (by the university campus) and it's easy to get to the museums area. 6. Breakfast was nice and we were satisfied with it. Overall, i think everything we got from this hotel we could have received from other hotels for a much cheaper price. The hotel looks good but there were too many small issues that accumulated for us. I would recommend the staff to smile more, for the hotel to be clearer with the guests and to ensure that the spa (the main offer of the hotel) is available for the guests (or at least inform them in advance about the availability).

the service a no go this time 1. at the checkin a young woman insisted we booked 2 Deluxe rooms I had to look for the booking and show her that there was a suite and a deluxe double room. no sorry or anything the reception should know better 2. the rooms were not properly cleaned found a hair in the lavabo when we arrived. Bath robes were not changed even though I put them on the floor. coffee was never replaced I had to ask for more. 4 capsules are not enough for a 3 days stay. 3. At breakfast I had my plate with food on the table and my iPhone left to get a drink when I came back my plate was gone the maid was cleaning up. I said that I was eating she said no problem lifted the other 2 plates which were placed on my plate and wanted to give my plate back. I thought she was joking. Another no go.

I know this Steigenberger as my daughter lives there. I like the Spa and that dogs are welcomed

we loved that the spa opened early in the morning and didn’t close until very late in the evening. also we could order snacks and drinks the whole night. the staff was very polite and nice and the whole hotel and rooms are soooo beautiful and comfortable. There was a „Waldsauna“ outside which was surrounded by trees which we loved and also a whirlpool outside with a beautiful view on the vineyards!
