Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRestaurant staff is still getting the hang of it, their service was hit-and-miss (some nights we were served really well, some nights there were misunderstandings, mixups, staff getting in each other's way, and drinks orders taking a long time or being forgotten altogether). Also, I tried to contact hotel staff through the Booking.com chat function, but there was no reply to my questions (only standard boilerplate responses). Garage parking is €8 per day (not included), I would have liked it if I would have been informed about this (it's not a big deal but I hate that type of surprises). But let's keep our eyes on what's most important; we really enjoyed our stay, this is not to complain, only to highlight the areas of improvement.
Spa is absolutely great, wonderfully designed and the view of the mountains from the outside pool is stunning. Rooms are tastefully done, beds are comfortable, hotel is well designed. Being right next to the skilift saves you easily 30min of walking and hassle every day. Staff is generally pleasant and service-oriented. Dinner was delicious, buffets were rich and varied. Free snacks in the afternoon included.

NetherlandsWe had half board which meant breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The food was good but we would have like a bit more variety. Breakfast was the same everyday and the kids buffet and the salad bar were exactly the same for the whole week. The coffee machine in the breakfast room is located at the worst spot in the restaurant, right in everyone's way. Also, there could have been two machines, there were long queues.
The room was very spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and sauna and the pool table was appreciated. They had a juicer at the breakfast buffet which you could use to make your fresh juices everyday, very nice. The ski room was right at the hotel and conveniently connected to the rental shop. When you walked out you were directly next to the gondula. Very convenient.

United KingdomThe dining room was cold - very cold. Most people seated in the area where we were originally sat asked to be moved because it was so cold. The hotel had placed a plug in fan heater at the one end which was a pathetic attempt at resolving the problem. The bar was also generally cold which is probably why it was so dead every night - not an inviting place to be when you've been out skiing all day. Generally I felt the hotel lacked atmosphere and this is not helped by the disjointed layout. Our room was over the fly over so we had a long walk to get to reception, the dining room or the bar. There is another bar on the other side of the road which was just odd! It was very poorly signposted and difficult to come across. It seemed to be open just at apres ski but again it was cold and the one night we went there we were literally the only customers there.
The actual room was modern, spacious and very well equipped. The location of the hotel is fine in terms of accessing the lift. The Spa is excellent. Staff in general were very helpful - especially in the restaurant which I thought was very well run and the staff here were superb. The food was simply excellent.

United KingdomThe hotel did not have enough staff and many of the staff were inadequately trained. The room cleaning was inconsistent and the waiting staff (with one notable exception) were very inexperienced. The food, especially the main courses at dinner, was very patchy.
We had a large modern comfortable room, the spa is lovely and the hotel is close to the ski lifts and pistes.

Germanythe architecture and facilities were out of date for the price. we stayed there with a dog - and although the hotel allows dogs, it was not very dog friendly - not allowed in the eating area, not even a bowl was provided and the hotel charged an extra 30 euros per night for that. normally, this would cost less than 10 euros in other hotels and they would provide a dog bowl, even a dog bed and will allow the dog to come to breakfast and dinner in the restaurant (we’ve stayed in other hotels even in Austria that do that).

GermanyThis is a ski resort, build for tons of people, not a boutique kind of hotel. Food is good, breakfast with good variety and eggs to order. Service quality varies, most staff from Hungary, some speak German. They do their job, but will not walk an extra mile. Rooms is nice, but not all lights working. lack of responsibility.
Great location high in the mountains in the Ötztal, close to the Timmelsjoch. Good food, nice pool and Sauna. Attractive interior design in most areas.

BelgiumProfessional and helpful staff (exceptional) , functional rooms, very clean. Swimming pool for kids. Free room upgrade from Booking is what made our stay an outstanding holiday. Plenty of choice at the restaurant, interesting recipes, but the quality of ingredients was only average. I can understand that fish in the mountain might not be fresh, but in a 4*S hotel local beef or fruits should be good. A comment on the half board: a bottle of half water 5.80Eur, (Austrian, average) wine 32-60Eur. Location: amazing mountains hotel is already at 1850m. Few services in the city (1 supermarket and 1 bakery closing at 1pm; only 2 cable car lines open, operating 9-16). Few (no?) activities in the city for rainy days.

United KingdomHotel - used to have a starter buffet (apart from the salad buffet) and a cheese room, the cheese room is still mentioned on the website but apparently hasn't been there for a while. It's a real shame as the food was a big selling point for our trip and I was really disappointed that it was so different from my last 3 stays at the Crystal. The food on the set menu was still great however. Staff - there was a huge distinction in staff - some were very friendly - Stella in reception and Marios in the restaurant for example - but some were incredibly unhelpful, bordering on rude. Appreciating we're in Austria I tried to speak the few words of German that I knew but there seemed to be a real aversion to speaking to us in any English at all, with some eye rolling to boot. I have never been treated that way in a hospitality environment before, even if there is no mutual language connection people generally manage with smiles, actions and some guessing, none of that here! It really tainted the trip. Room - was apparently one of the new ones but looked a little dated. The mini fridge didn't work and the room was so hot we had to sleep with the door open every night despite turning the heating off. We didn't mention this on the trip however so didn't impact us greatly.

GermanyIt was our first visit and we really liked the facilities but unfortunately the service was very poor. Service staff was very unprofessional in all areas, which is probably caused by current staff shortages due to Covid-19. However, this is not appropriate for a 4 star property and lowered the quality of our stay a lot
Great location with direct access to the slopes, extensive spa with several saunas and indoor and outdoor pool, which we enjoyed a lot. The rooms are spacious, very modern and clean

United KingdomFood - too fancy for a family ski holiday and it was often cold. We had a suite (206) We were not shown to the room on arrival which we would have expected so consequently we did not know how the sauna or coffee machine worked. There were no instructions either. The room obviously hadn’t been checked before we went in as the toilet water was yellow, there were no battery’s in the remote control, the duvet cover had a hole in it and the bathroom was lacking toiletries. We would have expected the sauna to be on too.
location & Spa the staff were lovely but extremely under trained leading to quite a tense atmosphere in the restaurant…. really not their fault though.
