You had to book for breakfast, drinks. We went up to sky bar , there were lots of empty tables and the hostess wouldn't let us sit at a table because we had not booked. The tables remained open for over a half an hour. My pregnant daughter and I had to sit by the pool and fetch our own drinks which were served in glass but then shown a stack of small plastic cup which we were supposed to pour our large drinks into. For a five star hotel, the amenities were not of that caliber. We couldn't even get a shower cap from the front desk not to mention there were no extras like slippers or robes in the rooms. Not a luxury feel anywhere in the modest and sparse yet beautifully decorated hotel. The staff were friendly but resolute in their rule following regarding reservations. No room service was available and the phone system was out of order. Prior to arriving, I had contacted them by email having failed to get an answer on the phone, and got no reply to my email. We were asked if we wanted our rooms serviced and we said yes daily but on the first day, the maid came in , tidied the bathroom towels and left the bed unmade. All in all, a beautiful hotel in a great location that needs a retraining when it comes to servicing their hotel guests.

There was too much noise coming into the room from the outside. As the weather was cold, I had to run the air conditioner constantly, and since the window could not be opened, after a while the air conditioner started to feel very stifling. That's why I couldn't sleep much at night.

The staff were really nice and helpful. The location of the hotel was very good. The room was big enough and the view was amazing. There was enough space in the room to put things.

I really wanted to love this hotel and I think it has potential but it’s not there yet. First off: the hotel is nicely located and they did a great job refurbishing an old building. The foyer is inviting and busy and people seemed to enjoy themselves. I booked a single room for one night and the room was big enough, but disappointing. The bathroom was quite large relative to the room size, but really poorly designed. For example there was nowhere to put your toiletries except above the toilet. A small shelf above the sink would’ve been such a game changer. There was no body lotion and the shower gel in the shower was nearly empty. They use large bottles which I find great, but they do need to be refilled. There were no other items such as cotton buds, and it was too dark to do my make up. The room itself was spacious, but the AC didn’t turn off and was super noisy. It felt like the washing machine was running all night. The windows don’t open. There was dust on the TV remote and around the bed as well as in the cabinets. I’m Design wise, I think they did a lazy job. Rather than looking 1950’s inspired, it just looked old. The lazy photograph of a vintage café showed that they didn’t make much of an effort and took the theme too literally. It didn’t feel fun or elegant, just dated. I didn’t need breakfast and didn’t book any of the restaurants, so can’t comment on those. Staff were nice but seemed confused, and a number of guests took forever during check out because of issues with double payments.

The elevators were slow. Restaurant booking was subpar. I had booked with the hostess, but the rooftop bar was full despite being a guest. I would have expected at least some space were blocked for guests. Dinner at Bouvier was also full, the hostess had made me a reservation, but upon arriving at the restaurant, the booking was not there. I did get a seat at the bar (I was alone anyway) but the bar counter overlooking the kitchen was way too bright to enjoy dinner. Food was not bad, but not super exciting either.

The hotel vibe and decor. Rooms were nice, but not very large.

Although we were upgraded from the snug the rooms were still very small for two people. We had no places to hang our clothes during the stay and struggled with the space with our luggage.

The Hoxton was in a good location to key areas and attractions in Vienna. I love the interior within the lobby and rooms a key feature that attracted me to booking this hotel. All the staff were super friendly and helpful to anything we wanted or needed during our stay.

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the hotel was just getting started. We waited for over half an hour at check-in, which was understandable to us. We booked a more expensive room, "Roomy," expecting it to be more premium than the cheaper version. The room was located on the second floor facing north towards a dark street, giving off a very cold and unpleasant vibe. We asked the reception staff for a change, but were told that a brighter room was not available. We suggested that we were willing to downgrade to a smaller room if it would be brighter. Despite being significantly cheaper, we ended up paying for the originally booked room. The next day, the extremely pleasant manager took us on a tour of the hotel's rooftop bar, which was just opening, so we could explore the space. After a short while, a seemingly employee in casual clothing approached us and kicked us out of the area. He acted as if he were a manager; I don't know who he was, but this person greatly tarnished our impression of the stay. If you are considering this hotel, I recommend visiting it when they address these shortcomings.

The hotel is newly opened, beautifully decorated, and the environment is clean. It will be an experience for anyone who enjoys design.

Room was very small, had to open suitcase against door. While the shower pressure was great, the heat wasn’t great. The kitchen is also closed between 4-5pm which was tough for my jet lag. As this is a new hotel, the rates are great, but it will definitely get more expensive which is a shame for me because I’d love this to be my regular Vienna hotel!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. They helped me practice my German with grace. The rooftop bar/restaurant was well priced and delicious. The pool up there looked great too, but it was too cold. The room was comfortable, the shower great pressure and bedding/towels so lush.

The duvet was too thick for my liking, so it made me feel too hot at night.

The room could be quite small for 2 people. Also, the doors to bathroom close with tiny gap between 2 parts of the door - it could be not comfortable for some people, as it doesn't feel like total privacy. But I was alone and it was OK for me!

Great new place in Vienna. I enjoyed my stay, I had a room on 7th floor and the view was great, even though not on the side of St Stephan cathedral. I even managed to use the open pool on the rooftop - it has a great city view.

Room service was not available despite instructions left in the room. It was hard to get a reservation in the hotel restaurants. Service at the table was sometime difficult when speaking in English.

Stylish decor, great food, great location, nice small pool on the rooftop.

We had to cut short our stay here and leave early because staying at the hotel became unbearable at some point. My fiancé wanted to surprise me for my birthday and booked several nights at this hotel. We were looking forward to a pleasant time here, but from the very first moments, everything went awry. The reception staff during check-in were terribly disorganized. And in the end, they assigned us to a completely different room, much smaller and less cozy than the one we paid for. An entire hour (if not more) was spent sorting out this issue and finally checking into the room we originally booked. And we didn't even receive a proper apology. The next day, we planned to spend by the pool. But it turned out the hotel didn't provide slippers or robes. When we inquired about it, it turned out that slippers weren't provided because it's considered environmentally unfriendly. Why robes weren't provided, nobody bothered to explain. It was utterly baffling to us how a hotel with a pool could lack all the necessary bath amenities. Another disappointment was the room cleaning, or rather its absence. Cleaning had to be requested, otherwise it simply wouldn't happen. But even when requested, cleaning still didn't occur. We had to practically beg the staff for it. But that's not the worst part. What forced us to leave earlier than planned was the fear for our lives. We were spending time in the lobby when suddenly the fire alarm went off. The lobby was automatically sealed off from the main exit by some sort of fireproof wall. All the staff scattered in different directions, instead of helping with an evacuation. We, along with other hotel guests, were simply in shock. After some time, the alarm stopped, and an administrator appeared and said it was a false alarm. Whether it was true or not, I don't know. But we were frightened, and nobody helped us.

    Nothing at all.

Where do I start? The Hotel is not ready for Guests. Apparently have to ask for Rooms to be cleaned, no service at the Pool, phone constantly rings out, beds are tiny, cake spilt all over case whilst in storage...

    The location.
