How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The cleanliness could improve, the towels are old, it will be nice to have a baking tray for the oven.
The location is great, the high ceilings, spacious, warm, air conditioned rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows, strong water pressure and plenty of hot water, coffee machine was great!

We found the beds uncomfortable and didn't sleep all that well, but other people rated the beds highly so maybe our backs are the problem. Chrome cast/Netflix doesn't work...TV too outdated?

We stayed during our 3-day visit to Vienna, the property was great, everything was above our expectations. It was clean, comfortable and provided us with everything we needed. The location was great and the property was convenient for public transport and airport shuttle. It is approximately 5-10 minutes walking distance away. There are many markets around, cafes, restaurants and shops on a very busy street. It is a few stops away from the city center by public transport.

Only one thing: we had 13A apartment and 2 times early morning we had some noise from upper apartment like someone made his morning training...
Location is the best: near U-bahn (2-3 min on foot), near Old City (15 min on foot or two U-bahn Stations), near shopping street Mariahilfer Strasse (2 min on foot). We had very quiet apartment, windows faced the street & soundproofing was fine. We had all the facilities in the kitchen, washing, ironing, TV, good WiFi et al. Apartments were warm, light, spacious, with air conditioners in 2 bedrooms. Easy to connect with kind host Lisa.

It was a first floor apartment in the city, so there was some street noise, but it wasn't excessive and has to be expected for this kind of location.
It was exceedingly clean, and only 2 U-baan stops from the Hofburg Palace.

First of all, the location was perfect and couldnt be better. Everything is near by. The owner, Lisa, was very accomodating & a wonderful host. The apartment is very spacious. We were 9 people and had no problem. Overall, it was a great place & we will comr back to this apartment for our next trip in Vienna. Excellent.

I would have liked a dressing table in the bedroom to put toiletries on.
The location was excellent, the rooms clean, spacious and well equipped, especially the bathroom and kitchen Shower was excellent

Linen had a very strong smell of the laundry products used. Also the room fragrances we found annoying and unnecessary. Our group was in two apartments, and it would have been nice to have them closer (and not in different stairs).
Very good location, easy access to metro. Clean and nice apartments. A bathroom and a separate toilet were nice, as we were four people in total.

Not enough cups for drinks, our family’s 5 persons but only 4 cups :) there were a few more minor issues, but overall everything was fine.
Cozy flat with a convenient location. Very pleasant communication with owner.

No workdesk at all.
Really convenient location. Off the busy street but really close by. The aircons are new and work well. Overall a pleasant experience.

Comfortable beds and excellent space. So glad to have a washer. It was close to Metro (5 mins). There is a fantastic Pizza place (Il Mare) across the street. Lidl 3 mins away and we felt very safe throughout our stay. The shower water pressure is amazing. Excellent communication with our host.

We had a problem with having our keys at check in but the host was able to fix the issue. No parking at apartment.

We really liked that the apartment had two bedrooms which is not easy to do find in such a central location in Vienna. Great location. Underground stop 3 min. from the apartment and it takes a couple of minutes to get to Stephansplatz.
