How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Really nice and clean place to stay in the center of Villach, all room/kitchen ammenities were offered; big and clean bathroom:)close to the restaurants/caffeterias train and bus station; good value for the money:)

Everything was so amazing. The apartments are very modern equipped. I would recommend them to eveyone. The communication was amazing and simply. The supporter Nicholas was friendly and his instructions was very helpful. He make our trip much easier. Thank you one more time for everything.

No breakfast supplied. Had to negotiate 2 flights of stairs which was difficult with cases. No TV. Front door code and room door code unfriendly until you got used to how they worked.
Room was clean and comfortable. No Breakfast supplied. Great location central to everything.

The windows were not really soundproof, let too much noise in from the street. A higher quality windows should solve this issue.
Location,on the main pedestrian street.City center. Though when we booked we didn’t realize the carnival festival would be on that weekend. The party lasted till midnight and they started to clean the streets right after which lasted till 10 o’clock in the morning.It was absolutely so loud, the windows turned out to be extremely poorly isolated that it was like sleeping in the middle of a disco.

It doesn't have a parking spot, but the host gave all the instruction where to park near the apartment. It was a bit small for 6 people since the third bed was a couch, but it's a very good balance of price and quality in general.
Location in the centre of Villach. Closest parking 3 minutes by walk from the apartment. The apartment was very clean and had well equipped kitchen.

Could have provided a TV, that's my only complaint, as I like to know what's going on in the World with News, current affairs, politics. It would be nice to get a hint of what's happening locally also, even if German is not your first language.
The room was very comfortable, with excellent high quality fittings, appliances, great size, and perfectly functional for 2. The central location is just 10 minutes walk from the train station, and is perfect. You can fall out of bed, roll down the stairs and end up in a restaurants, burger joint, high street shops, cafes, and a few bars. Definitely a great location from which to explore the city and the beautiful routes along the river Drava into the Alpine countryside around Villach

Parking places are available only within 5 min walking distance which can be a bit uncomfortable if you travel with several bags.

Parking is a little bit distant because it is in the no traffic area...
It was good location in the very center of the town, and the appartment was big and internet was fast. bathroom is large and the shower is good.

This is a very modern apartment situated inside a very old building. I really like the apartment but wasn't keen on the surroundings. It might have been a monastery or something like that - lots of old arches and columns. @Readers: don't let this put you off. Its not dirty or smelly .... just old.
Central location - right off the main pedestrian zone. Modern, well equipped kitchen. Excellent bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Recently renovated.

Very frustrating instructions for accessing the apartment. If it weren’t for the help a man who lived in the building we would not have been able to enter the building and then the apartment.
