Hotel is run by the host family but I can tell their son (a teenager) is not happy with this kind of work.

Good location if you will visit Eisriesenwelt (especially if you will drive as parking spaces of Eisriesenwelt will run out quickly). Parking (in front of the hotel) is free. Everything is up to standard.

Comfortable lodging close to Eisriesenwelt. I think it deserves more then 7.6. We had a spacious family room, not brand new but clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly, and they let us have diner in the restaurant although we arrived late. The food was good and the restaurant terrace has a great view over the mountains.

No fan or aircon so it was too hot and stuffy- struggled to sleep even with window open

WiFi only available in public areas (as advertised). Arriving Sunday, breakfast didn't start until 8.30, too late for our pre-booked visit to the ice cave.

Excellent location for Eisriesenwelt. Restaurant on site with outdoor seating. Excellent service from our charming waitress. Our ground floor room had access to an internal courtyard ... with a WiFi signal.

The place was a little tired looking. The restaurant was closed for renovating, but plenty of places to eat near by.

Comfortable beds, noisy if the window left open! I closed mine and so the room was fine, my father left his open and it was noisy.

- I would expect a kettle and glasses in the room. - Breakfast is not a standard, you have to pay extra or choose more expensive room option.

- Clean room and bathroom, spacious shower, comfortable bed. - Beautifully located, great view on the mountains, close to the town. - Good for a short stay without design expectations- time stopped there in early 2000's. :)

The hotel is in a fantastic location in beautiful surroundings. We had a very warm welcome from friendly staff, and our room was comfortable for a family of four. Breakfast was good.

The property could use an update. The carpeting is old and stained and really detracts from otherwise very clean Gasthaus. The shower in the first room we had was so small that a person larger that 130 lb would have trouble turning around in it. The second room was very small and no room for suitcases; had to pull two chairs together. The hair dryer was half hanging off the wall—something that could radially be fixed but detracts from overall appearance. I would definitely ask to see the room prior to accepting it.

The property was close to castle and ice cave, there was plenty of parking, and breakfast was adequate. Also has elevator so that was appreciated. The proprietress was helpful with our reservation since we arrived one day early. It is a good value for 3 star hotel.

Breakfast was the best for the whole Family! The kind lady in the reception upgraded us from a 4 bed to a 6 bed room; so kind. Very friendly, great environment and comfortable beds.

Bare bones room with no amenities, except a TV. Front desk does not respond to booking.com messaging service only until after I had left, received friendly msgs. Caretaker man that wanders about the house not so friendly.

Rather unfriendly staff at the reception (and on the phone). had to check out at 5 to go for a climbing tour so we couldn't get breakfast, not even a little package prepped on the night before to just grab in the morning. Also did not get a refund for that either, reception lied about the price of the room (it was 90 with breakfast but she said the breakfast would have been 30 (!!!) extra and we don't have to pay that since we cannot get breakfast but again, it was already included in the price on booking.com). Also they are advertising that the owner is cooking himself for dinner and then we got told that the kitchen is closed the whole day and we had to go for dinner somewhere else.

That we did not have to interact much with the rather unfriendly staff ^^

I stayed for 3 nights. I was really satisfied with this place. I can recommend it to anyone with the similar travel style, which is: travelling solo and spending days on exploring the closer (on foot) and further (with trains) surroundings. - Super clean room and bathroom - Friendly staff - Good location: around 10-15 minutes to train station, 5-8 minutes to the supermarket - Good (and fresh) food in the restaurant - Silence - I didn't hear other guests (my room was at the ground floor - maybe it's different for other rooms)
