How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Location is good There is a nearby supernarket that you can buy food. Unit provides good ambience and makes the house costy to stay. There is a washing machine and dryer in the unit, which is very good.

Some noise from nearby Earl of Spencer beer garden. Stopped at 10 though.
Good location for exploring Albany. Very comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen including for non-pod coffee drinkers:)

I prefer not to have to step into a bathtub for the shower - but that is a personal preference and perhaps some suites have walk-in showers. Best to ask when booking.
Lovely converted historic building with period features and modern facilities. Kitchenette with microwave, toaster, small frig, tea and coffee making facilities, and cutlery and crockery. Small table and chairs for meals. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Free parking on site. An easy walk into the city centre and waterfront area. Some reviews have mentioned noise from the nearby pub - I stayed two nights during the week in a suite facing Spencer St and heard no noise.

There is an historic family friendly pub close by. It can be very noisy during the afternoon and early evening but was always quiet from about 8.30pm on. Could be annoying if you are not going out in the afternoon. Otherwise a great local with good food and great atmosphere.
Terrific location and spacious. Separate kitchen and large bathroom. Beautiful decoration complementing the heritage nature of the place.

Nothing we love everything this property has to offer.
The location is walking distance to the main street, restaurants and foreshore. The Suite is very comfortable for a couple with space to cook, relax and enjoy everything Albany has to offer. The bathroom is spacious and clean, with the added bonus of a washing machine and dryer. This is our third stay in Suite One and it has never disappointed. We met our Host during our most recent stay, which is lovely to put a face to the name. Thank you and we will see you again later in the year.

Would have liked to be able to open the blind on the velux window in the bedroom to let more light in.
Beautiful old property with a modern feel to it. Very comfy bed and the small kitchenette was handy.

Our suite last year had a shower We had large spa bath but being in my 60s it was a bit of a mission to climb over into it to have a shower but that’s my fault not theirs

Delightful, self-catering accommodation in a central location in Albany. Our suite was 1 of 4 in what would have been an old home. A modern renovation with lots of charm & very spacious. Parking was easy.

Nothing really, as we were very pleased, and pleasantly surprised having assummed that it was a motel.
Easy walking distance to town centre and surrounds. Loved that the 'room' wasn't just a room, as we had thought it would be as in a motel, but a very comfortable, small abode. Very quiet situation.

Nothing we didn’t like about the property, it was gorgeous.
Everything was well set out and located. The suite was beautiful with everything needed for the three night stay. Eateries a very close walk. We really enjoyed our stay at Spencer Suites. Highly recommend it.
