How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only minor issue ,make sure that when making a booking ,pick a room on the ground floor .
Matt made us feel welcome and made sure we were comfortable. Location is excellent with shopping just across the road and a short drive to Thredbo.

Shower floods the bathroom (no exaggeration) and stairs. So. Many. Stairs.
Location is great, room is lovely, lots of character, clean and tidy, great accom and very 'alpine', the pub next door has great food and atmosphere, woolies just over the road, lake views.

Perfect for two solo travellers, we think it would test friendships if there were six as per the bedding! If you want to keep occupancy at 6pax, the double bed downstairs should be a sofa bed. Otherwise, get rid of the double bed, put the sofa there & add two armchairs. There aren't enough sockets upstairs; and definitely not enough bedside lamps.
Great!!! shower, comfortable beds, super to have a dishwasher 😁 - & as it's only a 2-person one, perfect for us! Matt at Reception was full of tourist info. 😀

Check out sharp at 10 AM, A guy open the room door at 10 AM he said he is from house keeping and show his watch and asked us to check out immediately.

Actually, I couldn't fault anything. The stay was just awesome.
From the moment we walked in, there was a great feel to the place. Chatting to Matt on the front desk, he was very polite and professional. When we got to the room, which was a family room, we were blown away by the large size of the room, the amenities, and the setup. My son left some toys there after we'd checked out. Matt gave us a call and let us know we left them there. We're returning in a few days to pick up the toys. We were very impressed with the customer service and the whole experience.

The beds. I forgot about the beds. Broken wheels and legs and uneven. That’s why we stopped staying here years ago. The beds in every room are as bad.

we recveived a free room upgrade when we turned up, it was one of the new refurbished rooms. The new kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, the room was spacious and the attached restaurant was lovely.

Been here few times now. Great place close to everything. Clean. Some rooms are a bit outdated but good comfort. Food at the Brumbys restaurant next to it is exceptional.

We obviously stayed in the summer period and although it wasnt a big deal my only suggestion for improvement for the rooms would be to look into installing reverse cycle air conditioning units which could be utilised for both cool and warm periods of the season for guest comfort.
We stayed at Alpines for a buisness trip to Jindabyne, the service from the staff was friendly and helpful on arrival, rooms were clean and functional and very good value for money in off peak season. location was great would definately recommend it and will be staying again.

The kitchen facilities are very basic (only a microwave) so it wouldn't really work for a longer stay unless you're happy to eat out every night.
This place is such a treasure, I felt like I had been transported to the Alps in Europe! A ski lodge in winter that is also great for hikers in summer. There is a huge fireplace (not on during summer) and a gym/sauna (which I did use). The location is great, right next to shops and Woolies, and I was even upgraded so I could make the most of the balcony and evening sun.

No lift (there's a fair few stairs to the top floor) Extremely hot room, no air cond.
