How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was amazing.
Paul and Trish were excellent hosts who provided an amazing continental breakfast with lots of variety. The Queen room we stayed in was large and comfortable and it had a huge tropical deck where we could eat.

Clean and comfortable. Excellent provisions provided for breakfast. The host, Paul, was very friendly and suggested places of interest to visit .

Parking could be tight when 3 units in use.
Excellent breakfast supplied by Paul and replenished every day. Very generous supplies. Place is in a very good position for Sea acres national park, koala hospital, and Port beaches.

I cannot fault anything !
Paul was an amazing host! He made us feel welcome and comfortable. The BnB was exceptionally clean and I really appreciated the hospitality and facilities my family and I had access to. What a wonderful BnB, central to all of Port Macquarie in a beautiful location. My family and I will be booking here again! Paul was so friendly and helpful and he offered us a five star service.

Very comfortable. Walking access to Shelly Beach and Sea Acres National park across the road which is worth visiting. Excellent coffee shop too! Private courtyard and access.

How well we were looked after the rooms are fantastic Paul the host was great very helpful. Breakfast was excellent all fresh and renewed each day bed was top class 5 star stay a 4 class accommodation We recommend Beachport to others .All top-class thanks Paul.

Located an easy 5-minute drive from the centre of Port Macquarie, the B&B is a self-contained suite on the ground floor of Paul and Trish’s home. We stayed in a spacious room with a super comfortable Queen bed with an ensuite and a basic kitchenette. There was a washing machine and access to a small garden with outdoor seating. Paul is a really helpful host and has stocked the kitchen with continental breakfast provisions - milk, juice, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, bread, jams, tea and coffee. This is a good budget option for a stay at Port Macquarie if you have your own wheels.

Paul was welcoming and friendly. The room, bathroom and courtyard are all clean, comfortable and private. Hosts provided a lovely assortment of Tea, coffee, fruit and breakfast food. We enjoyed our stay in Port Macquarie. I highly recommend this accommodation. 😀

There was nothing not to like. Very relaxing. Your privacy was always respected. You could come and go anytime. Short distance to the main town. The area was very quiet, no street noises at all.
The breakfast food selection provided was delicious. Loved the variety. You could not ask for more. No trouble to get more when supply was running low. Sitting out on the verandah was also a highlight. Everything was spotless, it felt like a 5 star motel, with a homely feeling.

We were greeted by a terrific host (Paul) who had turned the heater and lights on in the room for our arrival. He personally and cheerfully showed us the room and facilities, which were very comfortable, private and clean. Added bonus of a nice selection of food for our breakfast which we really enjoyed prior to our departure. 10/10
