How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No lift which was fine for us but something to take note of if you have trouble with stairs.
Fantastic location which was very close to beautiful Greenmount beach. Lots of space and secure car park.

There was someone else's clothes in the drawer and some of the cleaning could have been better, found easter eggs in the sofa, toast crumbs in the cupboard.
Less than a minute to the beach, friendly approachable staff, pool and hot tub, bbq facilities. Unit was ample size, loved having the dryer.

The pool that was supposed to be fixed according to advertising by our stay was not. I had to ask for towels that weren't left in room.
The location to the beach and main street is fantastic. On site staff were nice.

Pool was out of operation as it was getting fixed but beach was across the road so great excuse to go to the beach.
We recently stayed at this property as we were at Coolangatta for a beach volleyball competition Really close to the beach and shops and close for us to walk to beach comp. You have everything at your doorstep. We stay in a split level two bedroom unit and it had everything we needed.

Unable to plug in the microwave. Screen door onto balcony kept falling off.
Fabulous location, so close to the beach, restaurants and cafes. Beautifully decorated apartment. Brilliant showers!!

The pool was being refitted at the hottest time of year which seemed crazy, but luckily the beach was only a short walk away.

TV controls confusing.Drapes although new kept falling off, so we left them shut.. One key .Showers need to be replaced.
Lovely location .Lots of cheap choices around for coffee and food.. Awesome milkshakes in the Strand .Great beach and walk around Greenmount.

There was a broken key in the screen door so unable to lock from the outside Not warned about the overhead AC?ducting above car space which the boot door hit when opened Pool under maintenance but we were warned about this

Pool was out of action during our stay but we were advised well ahead of time and tbh the close proximity to Greenmount beach more than well made up for it. Highly recommend this property.
Great large comfortable apartment with 2 balconies and lots of little added extras to make our stay comfortable.

Our apartment (No.44) was missing lots of essential crockery and drinkjng glasses; the fan in the smallest bedroom was dangerously loose & the fan in the living area didn't work. Both were replaced once we had brought these to the managers attention & the crockery & glasses re-stocked. The pool was being refurbished during our stay. To compensate, we were offered an upgrade, but the apartment we got felt unloved by the apartment owners. FYI, this is a mixed block of residential apartments and holiday accommodation. It wasn't a problem for us, especially as we got the upgrade & Elaine & Cam we're very responsive to our feedback, but we did miss the pool.
The spaciousness of the apartment & the proximity to the beach and Coolangatta town. The beach is huge, and the boardwalk around the headland to Danger Point and Tweed Heads is a lovely walk. Elaine and Cam, the interim managers, were very helpful.

I wouldn’t recommend staying at Bella Mare if you were a gym junkie. The gym in the basement area was like a hot box with no windows.

Rooms are a little run down which we didn't mind. There were a couple of maintenance issues that needed to be fixed.
The location is fantastic. You can park your car and walk everywhere. Greenmount beach is stunning. Everything you need within walking distance. The pool is nice and warm and the spa is delightful.
