Semi remote property with Sheep & Goats, plenty of space to wander around the property. Unit size was great.

Loved our stay at Belmont homestead in the Gypsy Rose van. Had everything we needed, plus a stunning view of the river from the deck. The hosts were so lovely! They went over and beyond to make sure we were comfy and made the most of their stunning property and surrounds.

Surprised at suggestion that we eat at the Tavern or RSL when we were able to find a wonderful restaurant overlooking the beach with wonderful food. Far preferable to both the Tavern and RSL which we did investigate but were not very welcoming and smelt strongly of fried food and stale beer.

Note that, currently, this is perfect for folks looking to unplug. The Gypsy Rose has no WiFi or cell bars, however, this, too may change with the planned upgrades.

Very Creative!!! Think of a cross between camping and glamping. The bed and pillows were very comfy; the bathroom up to date. The hosts were most gracious and welcoming. It was a fun experience! (the owners are planning an extensive upgrade this year - better and better!)

We could have done with better general lighting in the living room as it was quite dark. A bedside light on both sides of the bed would have been helpful. There was only one pillow that was low and soft enough in our opinion. One was passable but still quite big. The other two were very firm and big and we couldn’t have slept on them.

We loved the linen on the bed (except we had to remake te bed before we slept in it. The top sheet had been put on the bed the wrong way round and didn’t even reach the top of the duvet while hanging low on both sides). The kitchen had everything we needed apart from perhaps a bigger bowl for mixing salad etc. The bathroom was a good size, towels etc great. The deck and BBQ were super and thanks for allowing us the free fruit. We especially loved the feel and sounds of the rural environment. We were able to visit the amazing Freycinet NP and Bicheno on a day trip from the cottage.

The coffee machine didn’t work. The freezer in the refrigerator drip water into our food. Two maintenance issues easily rectified.

Belmont is a beautiful property with beautiful gardens and restored cottages. The setting was quiet and tranquil and the owners very friendly and had thought of everything to make our stay a pleasant one.

Bedroom was a tad cluttered, which made it a bit hard to lay out our things over the three nights we were there. A small table would be great for indoor meals.

Maureen and John were great hosts and made us feel welcomed. Loved the farmstead location and rustic cottage. BBQ and back seating was excellent for those long Tassie summer sunsets.

Maureen and John were fabulous hosts. Gave lots of advice on local attractions and food, which we definitely benefitted from. Loved the goats and sheep, plus the local birdlife including kookaburras and ravens. The back porch was great for sitting at night.
