How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location was a little distant from the centre of town.
A clean, neat, accessible room within a secure environment. Adequate space, good facilities, an interesting menu at the restaurant, pleasant staff and parking at the door. A bonus was that all guest cars' windscreens are cleaned free everyday.

My bathroom towel was frayed, think it needed to be renewed.
Most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. Location very central to the people we were visiting. Dinner at the restaurant was great and the staff were very friendly.

the elderly gentleman who checked us in was extremely rude and impatient with us. not a great experience with him apparently the manager. All other staff were exceptional and friendly. Will stay again but will try to avoid the very rude man. Also no bowls plates or cutlery in the family room. kids are cereal out of mugs with teaspoons other than this and the horrible manger the stay was good.
the price and size of the room was fantastic and the shower head and pressure were excellent

In desperate need of new beds. When you can see the body indentations in the mattress in a freshly made bed, you just know it’s an oldie. Quite hard and sore on the hips. Wifi signal was unusable. Had to use my own data.
I was very pleased with the room. It was clean and well maintained. Clean tidy bathroom. Good minibar. Parking right out front of your door. Staff were very kind and friendly.

All was ok.
The breakfast was enormous and good value for money. Location was great central to everywhere we needed to go. The new circular jetty was amazing. The meal at the restaurant was excellent and service was great, friendly and efficient. The water in the bathroom was lovely and hot. Facilities where clean with everything supplied for our comfort.

The WiFi system badly needs upgrading. It's a very old-fashioned set-up, and an unsecured network. The signal kept dropping out and when it did connect it was too weak to use in the room - but excellent in reception and dining room.
Comfortable room. Loved having blankets rather than a duvet, as blankets allow one to adjust temperature to suit. Good restaurant on site but lacking vegetarian choices. Good breakfast menu choices. Convenient location.

It was expected to log in to do anything. even the access to the room was by your own phone with a text message, the breakfast was a box with some cereal and a plastic square container to use as a bowl and bamboo spoon, Longlife milk and tetra orange juice, no toast or bread, in fact no toaster, to make your own. The quadrangle area of the sliding glass doors was just a shambles and not inviting
The room was very nice and clean. The meal in the Restaurant was pleasant and staff were good.
