Not very clean, :( Showers had mold up in the corners. This caused me to have horrible allergies the whole time we were there(very itchy eyes, bad cough, sneezing, stuffy nose, etc.) This totally could’ve been a personal thing but just wanted to put it out there :)! The percolator coffee machine in the kitchen also had mold and a dead cockroach in it as well. :(

Great location! It was easy to walk to the marina and to Cairns Central! The owner was nice and the people in the hostel were very nice!! Good price :)!

If you want to party or stay up late, not the best place to go as you have to be quiet around 10pm. But still good to relax!

Different kitchen and bathroom, nice private room (dorms too if it’s for few nights). Good location to be near central but a bit far from the esplanade

Swimming pool is not the cleanest. Ants everywhere. No mirrors in the bathroom nor in the room.

Located close to the shopping. Comfortable room. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking on the street with a lot of space.

Not sure if it’s made clear but we stayed in a room with private bathroom and this does not include a toilet, you only get a small shower and sink. We found ants in our room but not sure if this is just due to the location.

Location was good for the price, very near everything. Staff was very helpful in suggesting things to do.

Our room was very far from bathrooms which for the most part was fine apart from when there was a storm and we had to run outside to get to our rooms and back

The hostel is spread over two houses so it’s never busy in the kitchen or common spaces. It was very chilled which was lovely, no loud groups. There was always people cleaning which was good

Unfortunately the shared facilities were very unclean. The pool was disgusting and looked completely unused because of this. sadly the pool was one of the reasons we booked this particular property. The kitchen and bathroom were also disgusting and no freezer in kitchen which we thought was odd.

The room we stayed in was very nice a roomy and the air con worked well. the location was also good, but unfortunately the air con and ceiling fan were dirty.

The room was nice and clean and it was great having the private shower. Well stocked kitchen which was cleaned and maintained well. Easy to walk down to the town and easy access to the local coles. The owner is also really nice and helpful.

The showers and toilets are a bit old, and the feel is not amazing. But it IS a Hostel. So it was actually totally ok

The vibes were great, there is a lot of space to sit outside, plenty of room to cook and enough amenities. Everybody was really nice, we could leave our bags there after check out to pick up our car

Substandard washrooms and kitchen, do not deserve that price. They also charge 50$ deposit, which is the most we’ve paid across hostels in Australia. There was a lot of cleaning and construction/renovation stuff spread across the property.

The wifi is a little temperamental and only connected me to the internet in certain spots of the property. Another router might be an idea?

Roz and Marco were fantastic hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. They kept my really big suitcase for a couple of nights while I went out to the Great Barrier Reef. The room was really well-equipped for the heat. I was very comfortable.

Hand basin needs works done. I believe it’s stain rather than dirt.

Shower recess was clean. The few hooks on wall were excellent provision for ease of managing essential items I.e. towels, gown.

Beds creaked a lot. Almost no mirrors anywhere and amenities were a bit older. Nothing too bad, but not the best I've seen.

Nice chill vibe. 3 smaller kitchens, so it never felt too crowded. Quiet, but friendly people!

Found the staff to be quite rude and questioned if we were even staying there on several occasions, didn’t really feel that welcome. Wi-Fi was terrible, barely able to connect and if we did it didn’t really work. Potentially too many people on the network. All info sent to you after booking is out dated, which they inform you when you get there.

Great location, a short walk to the centre and the esplanade. Several kitchens with hobs, toasters and microwaves (no oven), quite a few guests though so can still get pretty busy at peak hours.
