First, the photos impact more than being in the place. Second, the deposit that must be left for damages does not seem fair to me since there are damaged things and they do not inspect them before leaving and I have to trust that those damaged ones will not charge me. And third, the place smells old or saved. I stayed because the charge is in advance and when I arrived it was my only option.

The room is in another apartment down the street. Staff was not very friendly when asked questions, there was no warmth in welcoming like I was bothering them. The mirror was completely dropped behind the fridge which was unplugged from its power point. The door feels insecure.

For a start - the room did not look anything like the pictures on Booking.com...... While I appreciate old and classic, a lick of paint on some bare spots would go a long way. My booking was for two people. There was two of everything, but only one coffee cup! A simple bin for rubbish would also have been nice, especially as you are happy to take a $150 bond to cover possible damages! I suppose if I travelled by myself, I would be a little more comfortable with this level of budget accommodation..... but not at the price I paid!

The location is very convenient for my work purposes, and walking distance to pubs and eateries.

My stay was for three nights, but on the second night I noticed that the room was too dirty, they never came to clean it, for that reason I checked out and left the hotel.

What I loved was the attention of the people at the reception who were kind and took the time to show us the facilities, they did not go to show the room and everything was very nice, the truth is very good staff.

Rooms are old, transformed from houses & up two narrow steep flights of outdoor stairs, very awkward with bags. Bed bases ripped & had an undersize flat sheet on mattress, glad had own linen.

The air vent outside our window was quite noisy & the carpets were definitely getting on the older side with quite a number of stains.

Check-in was very easy. We were given an upgrade to a room in Crest on Barkly which was a pleasant surprise. Excellent location to restaurants & cafes, and we enjoyed our walk to the beach.

I heard a mouse crawling along the walls all night, so I didn't sleep much. The lady on the reception didn't really pay attention when I told her. The bed wasn't comfortable.
