Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaHousekeeper standard is not consistent. Shower gel, shampo, and conditioner so as tea and coffee did not get replaced during daily cleaning. I had to ask for it and when I complained I was told it was a mistake and they quickly come and brought replacement. But it happened everyday.
The location is good, not too busy and close to everything. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms.

United KingdomThese were niggles but given the price point I felt customer service should have been better. I paid to check into my room early at 10am. Once I arrived in the room, the tv was on playing an ident about the hotel pretty loudly and on repeat. I hunted for the tv remote only to find that there wasn’t one on the room. I checked the tv to see if I could turn it off manually or at least mute it because it was playing the same 30 second ident on a loop. It was pretty annoying. I called down to guest services to request that housekeeping bring a remote. I was told it would be there immediately, no remote. I called down a second time, still no remote. I swung by the front desk to inform them of the problem on the way to the pool. They again promised to send someone up with a remote. I returned from the pool at 5pm. Still no remote. I ordered room service and got ready to go out. The same stupid 30 second track just playing on a loop. The room service arrived and I asked the lovely lady who brought it to help me with the remote issue. When I had returned from my night out, hallelujah!! There was a tv remote so I could turn the stupid tv off. But I had been asking since 10am and by 7pm, had been roundly ignored. When I got in at the end of the night, I asked the front desk if I could have a slightly later check out. The front desk staff were lovely and offered me 12 which I gladly agreed to. Then in the morning the front desk started calling minutes after 11am to ask when I was leaving. Annoying. Final niggle. I had a late flight. I planned on spending an hour by the pool and then meeting friends for lunch. On checking out I was informed I no longer had access to the pool. I have literally never, in any single hotel I have stayed in, 5* or otherwise, been told I wouldn’t be allowed to use the pool for an hour or so after checking out with time to kill before a late flight.
The whole place is gorgeous. Clean, new, super high end. The pool area is fabulous and the room itself was absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay on the whole but some customer service elements let it down slightly.

The hotel exceeded all my expectations. The rooms were clean and always stocked with amenities. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and offered us an upgrade upon arrival at the property. The buffet breakfast at The Epicurean was to the die for with a massive range of food. We will definitely be back.
