Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyKitchens sometimes too full Staff very rude with wet clothes from guests - they should put a sign where to put clothes, not move them themselves, when still completely wet. I‘m lucky I saw this in the morning, otherwise I would have had to leave with wet clothes, which I didn’t appreciate at all Bus connection not that good
Quiet and clean

LatviaThe wifi only works at the reception. For this price, I think they could put more routers around the hostel to ensure there's wifi everywhere. Also, 1 bathroom is not really enough, if the rooms are full (9-10ppl in total in one unit).
It's a really cozy, quiet place close to the beach. They have separate units with 2 rooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom in each unit. Overall a nice place to stay.

IrelandDorm prices are super inflated in Noosa area, one of the most expensive hostels/accommodation I've booked in all of Australia. This was one of two available at my time of booking. The other hostels were booked out even though I was a few weeks early. Multiple different staff are constantly cleaning intensively from 8am to 2pm which seemed overkill. Power went out for a morning but it affected the whole town so no fault of Dolphins. +30 min walk from Noosa Heads, the main area for bars, beachs and surf although there is a bus, be sure to have a Go Card. Not all kitchens have a microwave but they have an oven which is a pleasant surprise for dorms.
Big pro is that there are multiple kitchens and bathrooms with shower, 1 per 2 dorm rooms from what I could tell so you're never waiting to cook or shower. Made some great friends, it's very social. Free surf boards if you give your passport as deposit. AC in the dorm rooms was great. Staff are very strict on unlabeled food so loads of storage space for room temp, fridge and freezer food as it's thrown out otherwise.

SwitzerlandThis hostel was awesome, I really liked the division into smaller units, so nice to have your own bathroom and kitchen that you only share with a few other people. The living room area is really nice to hangout and chat and meet others. Also, everything was so clean and the beds were awesome, not squeaky at all :)

United KingdomThere are no storage lockers in the rooms, so any valuables are left hanging around. I didn't have any issues, but it can be a concern, especially if you have expensive gear. Whoever was managing the day to day staff, doesn't know how to speak to them or manage people, very rude.
Great location great facilities, table tennis, pool, good library to exchange books, laundr7 etc.

DenmarkCould have used another table to put some things on in the room and bathroom.
Room was nice and big and at the front of the entrance so easy to come in and out. We had a quiet stay even over NYE. The place felt secure and staff were friendly. Very close to the beach and some shops.

AustraliaLamp on the bedside table didn't work. Staff had a frown on her face on the phone when I called with a question and in person when I came to check in. When you're in hospitality - learn to smile.

AustraliaI recommend a better cleaning in the rooms, not just change linen. The price was expensive for just a bed (lot of dusty on the walls) It is located far from the centre.
The kitchen and toilets were cleaned, but our room did not look like it. We were in a private room, but you can listen all the noisy from another rooms.
