Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis is a lovely property on the golf course. We stayed on a Sunday so it was a very quiet evening with no restaurant facilities open but it was an easy walk into town to a great pub meal. The room had original features and was a little dated but all over it was a good experience.

AustraliaRoom 4 was too small for 2 travellers and price of $135 was excessive. $80.00 would have been too much. Our upgrade to room 8 was an additional $55.00($190). Miles too expensive for very basic accommodation. $120 would have been too much. Needs restoration before releasing. One side of the twin-single king bed seemed lopsided..
Welcoming arrival and friendly manager. Lovely location Lovely shower.

AustraliaThe room deperately needed a refurb. Apparently there is a process underway, but my room was a long way off. Broken blinds, poky bathroom, old-fashioned radiator heating which was turned off overnight. It didn’t spoil my stay, but it needs fixing. The blinds could be replaced tomorrow - they should not have to wait for a refurb.
Charming old-fashioned hospitality. Excellent food, from breakfast to dinner. All staff were gracious, helpful and polite.

AustraliaIt would have been good to have had a second chair. When sitting up in bed to read or watch TV, our heads had to rest against the large picture frame hung above the bed which was a bit uncomfortable. Maybe it could be raised higher? Also, on arrival we only had one bath towel in our room and whilst another was quickly forthcoming, it was quite thin and worn which did not go with the overall room presentation.
We chose to upgrade to a newly renovated room which was a good size and simply but nicely decorated. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and everything worked as it should. Having viewed a non-renovated room first, it wasn't a hard choice to make an upgrade and was worth it.

AustraliaDouble bed not queen. I’m over 6ft tall and slept across the bed. Not a show stopper though. Just feedback abt the bed rating. The view was of the laneway across from the hotel to the garages/workshops. It’s almost 100yr old building so room size and layout are older not modern.
it’s a quaint, quite, clean and pleasant place built in the art deco style. Lots of dark wood and old style finishes with high ceilings and elaborate architraves

AustraliaRooms are very old and needs updating badly. For such a cold area in winter there should be electric blankets on the beds. No air conditioning in rooms, just a gas heater on the wall. Otherwise acceptable.

AustraliaWas adequate for a single traveller. Small double bed and we are tall people so very cramped. One bedside table so really not appropriately placed in the hotel for a couple and the room was small. Tap was dripping all night and rooms are placed where early morning golfers are outside your room talking at 530am. Signs should be placed around outside asking patrons to be considerate of noise.
Convenient

AustraliaWe were in an unrenovated room and the sliding bathroom door wasn't very good, difficult to use. Some lighter options for evening meals would be nice (eg having light snacks available for purchase in the bar/lounge would be appreciated) for when you've already had a busy day.
This was our 2nd stay at Dormie house in the last few months. The young team are lovely. We dined in on the Friday night and the main courses were excellent - would certainly recommend trying the restuarant. We're looking forward to returning once renovations are completed.
