Loved the location and the setting of this place; nestled in the greens.

Old world charm of this heritage building.

This is a lovely property on the golf course. We stayed on a Sunday so it was a very quiet evening with no restaurant facilities open but it was an easy walk into town to a great pub meal. The room had original features and was a little dated but all over it was a good experience.

Somewhat overpriced for what’s on offer . A nicely renovated room but quite small. A very pricey inhouse restaurant.. we chose to eat elsewhere.

Beautiful setting overlooking the golf course. Lovely , helpful staff. Very comfortable bed..Well located to Mossvale and surrounding sights

Room 4 was too small for 2 travellers and price of $135 was excessive. $80.00 would have been too much. Our upgrade to room 8 was an additional $55.00($190). Miles too expensive for very basic accommodation. $120 would have been too much. Needs restoration before releasing. One side of the twin-single king bed seemed lopsided..

Welcoming arrival and friendly manager. Lovely location Lovely shower.

Early closing times of bar and restaurant. No staff in hotel overnite. Fire alarms went off and I had to ring Fire Brigade as there was no staff on site, even at 8pm.

    Lovely renovated rooms, beautiful bathroom.

The location was great for a wedding we had in Exeter. The room was compact but had all that we needed.

Dormie house is an old hotel/guest house and golf club facility built in the 1030's. It is being refurbished and will be an attractive place to stay for those who appreciate 'an English country house in Australia' stay.

Breakfast was average, over priced and not restaurant standard. Accommodation was good but not sure it was worth $270 per night because there were building works happening during our stay starting at 7am on saturday morning. No mention of this on booking.com

Not particularly well sound proofed so quite noisy when restaurant closed and for early morning deliveries. Quiet overnight. No desk

Clean and tidy. Quaint manor house adjoining the gold club. Well maintained but older style. Windows for natural light, pleasant setting Small room with ensuite shower. Ideal for our one night stay passing through the town.

The room deperately needed a refurb. Apparently there is a process underway, but my room was a long way off. Broken blinds, poky bathroom, old-fashioned radiator heating which was turned off overnight. It didn’t spoil my stay, but it needs fixing. The blinds could be replaced tomorrow - they should not have to wait for a refurb.

Charming old-fashioned hospitality. Excellent food, from breakfast to dinner. All staff were gracious, helpful and polite.

It would have been good to have had a second chair. When sitting up in bed to read or watch TV, our heads had to rest against the large picture frame hung above the bed which was a bit uncomfortable. Maybe it could be raised higher? Also, on arrival we only had one bath towel in our room and whilst another was quickly forthcoming, it was quite thin and worn which did not go with the overall room presentation.

We chose to upgrade to a newly renovated room which was a good size and simply but nicely decorated. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and everything worked as it should. Having viewed a non-renovated room first, it wasn't a hard choice to make an upgrade and was worth it.

Double bed not queen. I’m over 6ft tall and slept across the bed. Not a show stopper though. Just feedback abt the bed rating. The view was of the laneway across from the hotel to the garages/workshops. It’s almost 100yr old building so room size and layout are older not modern.

it’s a quaint, quite, clean and pleasant place built in the art deco style. Lots of dark wood and old style finishes with high ceilings and elaborate architraves

Rooms are very old and needs updating badly. For such a cold area in winter there should be electric blankets on the beds. No air conditioning in rooms, just a gas heater on the wall. Otherwise acceptable.

Not much. Very old and dated although the dining room was nicely appointed.

Was adequate for a single traveller. Small double bed and we are tall people so very cramped. One bedside table so really not appropriately placed in the hotel for a couple and the room was small. Tap was dripping all night and rooms are placed where early morning golfers are outside your room talking at 530am. Signs should be placed around outside asking patrons to be considerate of noise.

    Convenient

We were in an unrenovated room and the sliding bathroom door wasn't very good, difficult to use. Some lighter options for evening meals would be nice (eg having light snacks available for purchase in the bar/lounge would be appreciated) for when you've already had a busy day.

This was our 2nd stay at Dormie house in the last few months. The young team are lovely. We dined in on the Friday night and the main courses were excellent - would certainly recommend trying the restuarant. We're looking forward to returning once renovations are completed.
