How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Love how big and clean the place was and how close it was to the beach. Literally walking distance.

The train going past behind the property several times a day. A coffee pod machine would have been nice.
The living area was expansive with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Decor was nice and very well equipped kitchen. Liked the larger bath towels and beach towels provided. Loved the shower head and water pressure.

Pool and jacuzzi were great with kids. Apartments are big with well set up kitchen and bathrooms. Right next to a nice beach. 2 jazzy restaurants right nearby.

Beautiful property in a great location, just across the road from the beach. The two bedroom apartment had everything we could want or need for our stay. Very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful outdoor alfresco with BBQ. The staff were great.

Stairs to get to accommodation was a small pain as we had quite heavy bags with us. Entrance to the accommodation was also not clean. However thats where the complaints will stop. Rest was awesome
Excellent accommodation, nice access to pool, nice spa next to the pool, great location as its very close to all major spots including beach opposite the accommodation.

the WiFi was terrible, phone reception was really bad so we wanted to rely on WiFi. but it’s been on and off all the time and the signal was really weak.
it was nice and clean and quite at night.

Very dirty bathrooms. Grout and sinks all need to be replaced urgently with rusty drains in both bathrooms. Decor outdated and needs better thorough apartment cleaning including new carpet needed. A little overpriced for what it was compared to Gold Coast or other parts of QLD.
So peaceful, great pool and not in the heart of Byron. good upkeep of outdoor area and landscape. Secure car parking and comfortable beds.

The apartment kitchen would function better with an island bench with stools. The bed was very hard and you could feel the springs also the pillows were average
Fantastic friendly service, over the road from the beach, beautiful pool area with lovely setting areas and the pool was a good temperature. The apartment was spacious and the showers had good pressure The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and serving meals. Large dinning table and good size couches.

Didn't have all of the cable channels initially. Rang and left a message for reception but had to go down the next day to follow up. They did come and sort it, but felt like it was only because I followed up in person.
Unit was spacious and comfortable. Very clean and tidy.

You need your own transport to get into Byron town center or catch a taxi as there is no local bus stop. The beach walk into town takes approximately 20 minutes.
Clean & stylish accommodation. Sun & shade areas around the pool. Great Cafe & restaurant next door & just a walk across the road to beach. Will definitely stay again.

Large, new apartments with great pool facilities and directly opposite the beach. Short (15-20 min) walk from central Byron. Two great food options right next door.

There is a backpackers right next door, had some rowdy noise on the Friday night. But we'd stay here again despite that.
Amazing location right by the beach. Was great to have a secure garage to park the car. Really good spacious living area and a large balcony, the styling was really nice. Was brilliant to have two great restaurants next door. Super handy.
