The central location is good in some ways, but downtown Alice essentially shuts down after 7pm at present so evening food options within walking distance are limited. The main car park does not have enough spaces for the number of rooms, although an overflow is available.

A functional room which was good value (at this time of year anyway). The motel was able to facilitate an extra night (without having to change rooms) when I arrived a day earlier than originally planned at short notice. Car park is secure which counts for a bit here (at the moment, anyway).

Getting a bit tired and seems like maintenance isn't a high priority (eg shelf in shower alcove appears to have been broken and not replaced). Doesn't seem to be enough on-site parking for the number of rooms.

There was carrying on outside my door and shouting/yelling by other guests. Made me feel a little bit unsafe and nervous. I understand it's not the property's fault and the manager did come over eventually to ask them to stop.

Excellent location, staff lovely - let me check in early at 12 instead of 2 after two weeks hiking! Was much appreciated!

I've stayed at the Elkira several times before and it has always done what you need. It is clean, friendly and very central. The staff are helpful .... it's clear some of the rooms have been refurbished. But both times we stayed on our most recent trip it was spotlessly clean and generally quiet. It was also excellent value for money at the price

The manager was very unhelpful, very grumpy and not at all friendly. Asked if he could help with alternatives when the airport bus did not arrive, he basically stated.. it is between you and them, i asked him if he had the number for the bus, he did, so he did ring the bus people and leave a message for me. When I arrived and said good morning to him, he did not even bother to raise his head and give me a greeting. I felt like any interaction with him was all trouble for him. Not at all good customer relations. My whole party I was travelling with felt the same about him. And unfortunately the new girl he was training must have had his attitude rub off onto her, she was much the same, politely short tempered and defensive, and one felt anything asked of these people was generally a hassle.

Room was a fine size and everything was well appointed. Shower was fine with plenty of hot water. Good central location in town. Near woolworths and coles if you needed to buy anything.

No crockery/cutlery for a light breakfast such as cereal. A small carton of milk would be appreciated instead of the little pods especially for 2 people. Lighting was very poor for reading Luggage was requested to not be placed on spare beds as there was a luggage stand available. Not in our room!

Opportunity to catch up on washing. Having a guest laundry was a bonus. Peaceful

Would have liked to have the heater working to desired temperature ie 25 degrees. The console indicated this temperature but the appliance was not producing desired output.
