Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe showers looked quite unappealing so I didn't use them. I know they're old but they still looked a little shabby, unfortunately.
The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, although there were very few pastries/danishes/other sweet food left by 8.30am.

AustraliaRoom could have had a table and place to put our bag. Staff could have been more welcoming and helpful.
Lovely old majestic building. Wood fires, wide stair cases and fairy lights. Quiet with a sweeping view of countryside and mountains from our window. Soft bed and enjoyed the shared bathroom with style from years gone by!

United KingdomThe shared bathrooms were unfortunately needing a lot of work - the showers were filthy, with mould & rust buildup on the tiles, cobwebs in the corners, and the faucets weren’t responsive so you either had a boiling hot shower or a freezing one. Also, there was a significant smell. The main area of the bathroom was perfectly clean which was nice, with little thoughtful things to assist. However there was no place for a hairdryer or straightener to be plugged in, and no hairdryer in the bathroom or bedroom which would be really helpful (perhaps you could ask for one). I recommend showering with thongs - I’m not particularly precious about these things but the showers really did feel like a public shower unfortunately, and fairly worse than one, say, at my gym.
The hotel itself was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. It was decorated beautifully and thoughtfully, with an old piano and books, candles and Knick knacks at every turn. There was so much to discover! Also the multiple fireplaces and sitting areas were gorgeous. Oh! And the grounds! It felt like you were in a very expensive, very old heritage hotel. I was mesmerised!!! Incredible value for money.

AustraliaBad points : the shower is really uncomfortable to use. The not for hot water and cold water are different, and no matter how much combinations u try, it either gets too hot or too cold. I can understand they try to stick to retro style, but it's not handy at all. There were no shower caps provided, and it was only a rain shower, so the only choice was to wet the hair. In some room, there was no place to keep your luggage, so it got little cramped. But overall, I enjoyed my stay.
Good place. It's not too far from kiama or shellhourbour, only half an hour drive. It's an 200 years old inn. Good points : it has a beautiful character and it's been maintained really nice. The place is decorated with a retro style with natural flowers all over the place. The place has beautiful paintings and outdoors and sitting areas and fireplaces. So I would definitely recommend keeping some time to spend around the hotel. The beds were comfy, and the rooms are good size. There breakfast was really good.

AustraliaNice cosy room but the common areas upstairs seemed a bit tired, and there were cobwebs in the ladies bathroom. Piles of used tea cups at the tea stations made it look a bit unkept. And a few uncleared tables at breakfast. Perhaps more staff are needed?
The ground floor is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. Lovely art throughout the building and beautiful grounds. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Super comfy bed.

AustraliaI had a quick look at the communal bathroom and the one I saw does look in need of some TLC in the near future. Not 100% sure I would be a fan if that was my selected option during my stay. No A/C in the room, but the building was designed to be comfortable in the 1920's when A/C didn't really exist, so I suspect it might stay relatively cool in summer? Unfortunately the hotel is located a little way out of town (1.2km). If you are feeling fit, you can walk to town in about 15 minutes, but otherwise you will be driving to/from Robertson town centre for any needs.
I stayed mid week, which was a pretty quiet time for Robertson. The staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. If you enjoy heritage buildings, then you will be charmed by the character of this building and it's spaces. It retains a lot of it's original features throughout and despite it's grandeur, still has a cosy feel to it, particularly the sitting room. I half expected to see Poirot propped against the fire place, sipping on a brandy! I stayed in a room with it's own ensuite and found it to be in fair condition, cleaned and practical to use. Importantly, the hot water was hot and plentiful! There was a radiator in the room for the cooler months, but wasn't needed for my stay. There is no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in your room, but each floor has it's own communal lounge area for guests to use as they step off the grand staircase and there are shared tea/coffee facility located here on each floor. I found it was a great spot to base myself for sightseeing in the area, and it was a much more budget friendly accommodation option compared to staying in Kangaroo Valley. The Robertson is only 30 minutes down the road and closer to a lot of the natural attractions eg Belmore Falls, Fitzroy Falls.

I was checked in by annella and she was such a joy. She was so helpful each evening of my stay, booking breakfast at moonacres (which is a fantastic deal for breakfast), supplying plates and cutlery for my dinner, and lovely to chat to. You have a real treasure in annella. My room was large and the bed was so comfy. I absolutely loved the fire in the sitting room. It was so quiet and lovely to sit in there and read. I had a delightful stay. The tea making facilities on the first floor was fantastic as well.

AustraliaThe place is old but somewhat magical. It's unique and eclectic, and you feel like you are back in the 1920s. The weather kept changing...sun, rain, and then the fog rolled in, but this added to the magic of the place. The staff were always attentive, and the service was excellent.

AustraliaThe buffet breakfast would be far better replaced with some fresh fruit, croissants and cook to order eggs. The bain-marie hot food was cold and unappetising. No muesli or fresh fruit.
Loved the grandeur of this historic hotel and the cosy atmosphere created by multiple fires in open hearths and period furnishings. Our dinner near the fireplace was unexpectedly delicious, menu well constructed and food perfectly cooked and presented to us by the highly professional Luca.
