Needs to be cleaned to a higher standard. Bathrooms could do with a revamp.

Location was very good. Quiet considering it’s just around the corner from George street, and it was easy access to the light rail. Made getting around the city a breeze.

The room was hot. No air conditioning and it had a noisy fan I couldn’t use. Way too noisy to sleep. There was constant construction noise all day. It was awful. I wouldn’t stay there again. The hotel needs new carpets and all the walls painted. It was really sad place.

It was quite hot the 2 days we stayed here and there is no AC so it was very uncomfortable to sleep in as there is only a small fan which is also quite noisy. The room is rather dim and could use some better lighting. There were also cockroaches running around in the hallway.

The check in staff was very friendly, informative and helpful! The room was very affordable for Sydney CBD and the shared bathrooms were clean!

I came into town for a photo shoot to promote myself and my business I am happy I left a lot of my things at the studio after the shoot . When I got back to the hotel the elevator didn't work it was painful walking up 4 flights of stairs but with my other stuff I couldn't do it

Nö complaints

It's a nice pubstyle hotel, the "Grand" is a.name. The rooms are rather small and have no private bathroom as in the description. Bath, showers and toilets are kept clean and are adequate. The location is superb, very central and Close to the train station. Staff in the pub - that's where you check in - are super friendly.

Light on outside my window all night and curtain dodn't close properly

I travelled into the city to attend an event. The hotel was very close to Wynyard Station

Only one key available for two people with conflicting schedules made it very difficult to access. Elevator door triggered an injury in shoulder as it was too heavy and there were two parts to it's use.

Location was great and the room was clean and nice. Staff were fine but not attentive, I don't think that's their fault though as there wasn't many of them and the bar was busy.

However, the building was pretty old. What surprised me was that I needed to manually open the lift's door. The sink in my room was clogged. The room was a bit dark and it looks like it hasn't been renovated for many years.

I like the location because it's in the CBD. They provide towels, glasses for tea and single-used thongs, which exceeded my expectations. I can access the pub easily because it's on the ground floor.

Check in time is too late for anyone - 11.00 am preferred to 2.00pm. Particularly when one has arrived in town early and as one can visit the bar once arrived rather than wait around. Electricity access to hot water jug in room ?

Location suitable for CBD overnight stay with convenience to public transport. Light breakfast included. Bar and food downstairs.

Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper - it was pretty loud (to be expected!) I didn’t realise it was above a live pub (they offer a discount!) - have to check in at the bar and leaving your bag only works for certain hours the bars open. Not an issue - but something to keep in mind.

The room was dirty. I think it is really important and necessary to clean the room... the fan was full of dust and spider webs. The mirror is dirty, the window can't be closed (too old...). The lavatory with separated cold and hot water is useless. The photos of the rooms on booking.com are from the best room the hotel has, but the others rooms are totally differents. Dirty, with a bad smell, cigarettes ends in the flower pot, common shower broken with water spreaded everywhere.

The staff was very gentle, they store our luggage and proposed a discount of 10% on the beverages and the food. The hotel is a very beautiful building, with an old and ancient charm. We really feel the history of the old Sydney. The location is perfect and the bed was confortable. The dining room and the bar are very beautiful.
