The room is clean and tidy and has all basic necessities for traveller. There is a firepit where we enjoyed roasting marsh mallows plus the view is scenic , just so perfect for a cold weather. Mountains, kangaroos and wallabies made it more a relaxing stay

Excellent, quiet location. Loved the outdoor seating and fire pit located facing paddock with roos and emus. Comfortable, warm beds and host couldn’t do enough for us. She even made Anzac biscuits for Anzac Day!

Best outdoor space and view!!! Just wish we had dessert before dinner as the rain put out the beautiful bonfire before we could toast our marshmallows. Great service! Very friendly hosts and answered all our questions to help us get the most out of our one day in halls gap.

Decor/ bathrooms a bit outdated - with a little up-styling this place could look/ be super cool.

Would have liked a range of normal and herbal tea and option of skim milk for our tea/coffee.

The hotel was a convenient walking distance to the town and main dining establishments. It was clean, comfortable and included basic kitchen utensils. Good sized linen and lovely bathroom toiletries. Loved the views and visiting wildlife early morning and late afternoon. The outdoor furniture was a bonus especially after our return from some of the Grampian walks.

We loved staying here. The room was excellent super clean and with everything you need. However, the highlight of the place is the deck area where you can sit by the fire and watch all the wildlife. They have two bbqs with all the equipment you need. The owner was so nice and friendly he gave us board games one of the nights, lit the fire every evening, gave us so many recommendations and left some chocolates in the room for us. Location wise couldn’t be any better. Walking distance to the town but far enough that we got to see all the animals and the views of the mountains. We will be back for sure

Staff were fantastic, location was also ideal, and we were really impressed with the decor, seating area, condition and quality of furnishings & barbecues. Also there. Was good shelter from sun or rain with seating and over the barbecue areas. Sometimes the term motel can conjure up mixed expectations but this exceeded. Also to top of the stay, there was a great fire and lots of kangaroos. Highly encourage stays at the halls gap motel

Beautiful and serene surroundings with kangaroos around, and a good view of the mountain. Clean room with free wifi and netflix! And most of all, a friendly owner (the man on the reception), who gave me a brief introduction around the area; where to go and places to eat 😊

This is a gem of a location if you want to see Kangaroos and birds in Australia. The garden of the motel is opposite a small lake where they gather. In the evening they lit a fire pit and we enjoyed sitting around chatting and watching the wildlife and the scenery. The owner of the motel was really helpful suggesting places to visit and providing information.
