Nothing the hotel was good overall

The location was good and the hotel had an old world vibe. The room with ensuite was large and spacious.

Breakfast although I was early and had to try to find things. I saw a group later that was more organised.

The room and private bathroom were very nice with a relaxing verandah just outside the room. Although there was a music night down stairs it didn't finish late ,nor was it intrusive. Breakfast was average Although I was early.

I didn't eat the breakfast, but is was a cozy and comfortable good old Pub Hotel! We got upgraded to a private bathroom which was nice. Next time we come we will come up to see a band at this hotel.

Abit noisy, can hear people walking on corridor. Shower water is inconsistent.

Room is tidy and neat. Coffee and tea provided in the room. Milk(in fridge outside room) and cookie available at common area. Breakfast was okay, toast and cereal. Friendly and helpful staffs, who recommended us few places to visit.

It's called a hotel and I anticipated a booking a table for dinner. It turns out it didn't have a kitchen. however, the owner/manager was very quick with the comms to let us know.

A mix-up with the room allocation was very quickly addressed. It has real character.

A charming boutique hotel but misleading description
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Queen Room with Private External Bathroom
    • Stayed 2 nights

I booked the Queen Room with a ***private external bathroom***, however, we had to share the bathroom with another room and, even worse, the bathroom was quite a long way down the corridor, which wasn't fun at night. This was very disappointing and misleading. The breakfast was very simple - toast with spreads and cereal with milk and peaches. The other reviews were so glowing that we were expecting something much fancier.

A charming old building with a great upstairs balcony and tea/coffee facilities on the ground floor and upstairs near the rooms. The room was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. Close to The Mill Castlemaine but further away from the centre of town. Very friendly staff although this could get a bit too much at times.

There was nothing to dislike about this amazing place.

Breakfast was fairly simple but quite adequate. Plunger coffee was very good. We didn't know that this is a live gig venue. We were amazed at the performance in the evening of Peter and the Wolves. A treat above expectations.

Nicely done. Clean large rooms. Old wordly ambience combined with various artworks. Bohemian. It's also a small live band venue. It's in walking distance to the Mill district, which is Castlemaine's coolest place to hang out.

    Nothing really.

Room was spacious, well furnished and quiet. Atmosphere was relaxed and the art work gave character. Weekend entertainment added to the character. Balcony over looking main road made one feel part of Castlemaine, despite being a bit noisy at times. Closeness to the Botanic gardens gave a good route for a walk.
