Getting pool towels from reception rather than at pool area

Staff signed me up to Accor which allowed for late check out to 12pm. At 11am the hotel locked us our card/room access and required a few up and down lift trips to get it sorted with staff (was told it was fixed when it wasnt). I now get a daily spam call from Accor about offers. Blocked the number but still getting calls!!

Excellent view and amenities, hotel was clean and easy to access the carpark. Quick lift despite many levels.

Negatives: - nearly every time I needed assistance at Reception I had a lengthy wait, especially at check-in, there never seemed to be enough staff on, they looked tired and over-worked, nonetheless they were still polite and friendly - room telephone did not work, cable broken - Google Chrome on TV did not connect - Wifi extremely slow and intermittent - for a Superior room, it was fairly small - room was not cleaned daily despite leaving the sign on the door - when it was cleaned, beds were quickly made and garbage emptied but nothing else, floor needed vacuuming and surfaces wiped down - the bins don't have plastic garbage bags.... I've never stayed in a hotel with that before, staff just enter bin contents into their big garbage bag, not sure how hygenic that can be! - the irony of the room phone not working meant each time I needed assistance, I had to go and queue up at Reception again for a lengthy wait - had to call 3 times to have room cleaned as we were missed - daily parking charge had gone up since I checked website the night before checking in... website said $18/day, Reception informed me it had "just gone up to $20" - wish I'd known how to access ice, cutlery and water at the start of our stay... found this out too late on the 7th day - one time I used the mobile number provided to order an ice bucket for the room, I was told it would be about 10 mins (which was no problem) but it still hadn't arrived after an HOUR. Sent a follow-up message to the mobile number and they apologised they sent it to the wrong room, got the numbers mixed up. This significantly delayed our plans that afternoon,

Positives: - two comfortable double beds - brilliant view of the Hinterlands, great at night, especially watching people on the Slingshot ride from the balcony! - quiet room - great location - can borrow free boogey boards at Reception to use at the beach - when I was provided with a mobile number to use in lieu of my room phone not working, each time I needed to use it I had a quick response with action taken - decent gym with good equipment, liked the Peleton program on the bike (however it took me about 20 mins to successfully connect via Bluetooth) - pool is a good temperature - wasn't available due to upgrades/maintenance for our first two days stay there, but we were at least offered an alternative pool at a nearby hotel

Tiny tiny bathroom was ridiculous. Not a place to stay with a family, . Had to sleep most nights with the TV going to drown out the music from outside that was keeping us up well after midnight. No restaurant at the Hotel. Old mate in the cafe was more interested in being funny than getting our order correct. For the money we paid, I expected this place to be significantly nicer!! Not one greeting from the concierge over the four nights we were there!!...

The Location is pretty good and the main bed was quite comfortable.

The staff were sometimes a bit blunt, I was on a very low level which was disappointing for almost $350 a night and such a small room.

The bed was super comfortable and it is very close to everything like restaurants and the beach and shops!

Need more umbrellas around the pool area. Would like a fresh beach towel area to leave wet ones and grab a dry one. Limited beer/ales selections.

Very good experience with twins water Novotel Buffet breakfast, so I paid for this time stay at Gold Coast Novotel, but totally different than I thought, disappointed 🙁

The beds were too soft plus the pillows were high so I often woke up with a sore back Also a LOT of water would often leak out of the shower onto the floor, made it hard to dry myself without getting my towel wet from the floor

Check-in was a little hectic and our room wasn't ready still at 3pm. We shared a little hallway with another room (I'm guessing you can book these as adjoining) and the noise was pretty loud from people coming and going at all hours.

Great location, right on the mall. Room was very comfortable. Kids loved the pool and the breakfast service.
