Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaA very noisy location,boy racers screaming up and down road. Kids running rampant in complex ,knocking on doors and making a mess down hallways and lifts. @10.30-11pm.. Not a lot of sleep due to noise from boy racers and kids yelling. No bedding for sofa bed. So, I had to use a towel .There is no plug for the sink,no dish cloth, only 3 plates,3 spoons ,3 cups for 4 people. Was very disappointed and expected a lot better. Also was requested a $300 deposit which wasn't mentioned when I booked. Took a couple of days to be returned and had an extra $17.75 taken out with it. Not impressed at all .
The manager was very nice ,very jovial and easy to deal with.. We did arrive a little later than expected but was given code on arrival.

Australiathe big bed was so hard and had 2 levels. the kids had no complaints about their beds but hubs and I were struggling and didn’t sleep very well. i didn’t like that I tried to book the room at one price, it then disappeared and I found it 5 mins later at a different price $100 more. we were texted and asked when we would be arriving no issues. then I should have taken it as a bad sign when I was rung and asked if I wanted to switch rooms to a room with 2 singles and a fold out couch and no offer to down grade the price. was only informed that I had to pay a refundable deposit after paying for the room (still haven’t received it back and it was $300) then was informed it was at a completely different location to what was advertised. it felt more like an air bnb booking than a hotel booking. i texted to ask about when our deposit would be returned and was told I’d hear from them the next morning and still haven’t heard from them. we left the place almost how we found it, rubbish in the bin, dishes washed and used towels in the bathroom. we only needed a hotel due to our plans having a major circumstance change and we’re currently $300 extra out of pocket. one would assume if you check out on the Tuesday your deposit would be returned by the weekend.
i liked the size of the apartment. it worked for the 4 of us that needed to use it that night. had a nice shower and loved that it had a kitchen to use. we made sure to wash our dishes and wipe down the table after using it.

AustraliaFirstly, the lift was out of order. I booked there for my parents who are old and have health issues. We were booked on the second floor and had to walk about six stairways to get to the second floor. My poor parents almost collapsed. In the room, aircondition was very loud. The fan in the second room didn't work. One of the extra blankets had ripped and looked unclean. The painting in the second room has violent words such as died, hell, sex....My daughters ages 7 and 11 got very scared, so I had to take the painting down, which was heavy and big. The kitchen cupboards seem falling apart. I didn't have high expectations of this hotel to begin with, BUT I regretted that I should have spent extra money on another hotel cause I know I would be more accommodating and comfortable.
Self contained with dryer and washing machine. Decent size lounge area. Loved that there's two single beds in the second room.
