How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bathroom fan could not be turned off. We did ask reception and they said nothing could be done. So it was a bit noisy overnight.
We had a top floor view room overlooking the beach. Just watching the surfers was very relaxing. A few restaurants within walking distance and an ice cream shop just across the road. 2 mins walk to the tram to get to other parts of Newcastle.

A bit warn round edges.
Loved the atmosphere of the place. Great views. Room was spacious. Great restaurant. Would stay there again.

Window between bathroom and bedroom should have a blind. Both for privacy and not illuminating the bedroom at night.
Location was great. Upgrade to sea view was much appreciated.

The view from the room was looking over the carpark. This may need to be advised to customers when you are requesting if they wish to upgrade, we were asked if we wanted to upgrade but chose not to, thinking that all views would be ok, but ours was not the greatest.

The price was high for what was on offer and this might have been as a result of events in the city over that weekend.
The room was perfectly acceptable for our needs. We did not have high expectations but they were all met.

The single bed was not required but it meant the beds were close together and there was no room for a bedside table on both side of the double. Meant we had to use both beds and share the bedside table, as we had nowhere to put our glasses, phones and cups. I know, 1st world problems! Also, not keen on a shower over a bath. Much prefer a walk-in shower. A little expensive but I guess you pay for the view.
Amazing ocean front room. Spectacular views from all angles. The dining room has an ocean view too. Our room was good though a little compact. Outdoor fold up chairs were available for the balcony, which was a little small and frankly a bit too scary for me up on the 6th floor! The location of the hotel is within easy walking distance of Newcastle centre, shops, cafes and restaurants, galleries and other places of interest. Underground parking on site. Staff were lovely around the hotel. Very pleasant stay.

Hotel is a bit old and tired and needs a re-fresh. $300 per night, during the week and out of season, is too much for this level of hotel.

The room service and restaurant were completely overpriced and did not actually have a number of items on the menu. Dinner service was mediocre. We only had breakfast one morning and the service was better but the food was less than impressive and really disappointing.

FIRST NIGHT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK ON THE MAIN BED IN THE ROOM (RAIN WAS TORRENTIAL). THEY RELOCATED US TO ANOTHER ROOM THE FOLLOWING NIGHT WITH NO PROBLEM.

Bed was not comfortable at all! Woke on 3 different occasions and ended up with an extreme back ache and hip pain.
Location was fantastic, upgraded room looked directly out into the ocean and foreshore. Great view. Tranquil sound of the waves day & night

No real issues. There were renovations in the lobby which were quite awkward, but not a big deal.
The location of Noah’s was perfect, close to the beach. Our rooms was updated and clean. The beds were comfortable.

We did take the car out on Saturday and found all the parking taken up with a wedding. Staff were great though, offering us a space in the top staff car park.
The view was amazing from the top floor in the upgraded room. we were able to walk to most things we wanted to see or catch public transport to go further.
