Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe facilities are very dated. The rooms, whilst clean, were obviously worn with water staining and damage, peeling Laminex from cabinetry and broken tiles. Despite being booked for 4 guests, we only had one set of crockery(coffee cups etc)/glassware. The 'games room' is located deep behind and below the reception, and unfortunately all but one of the games was functional (this includes the board games which were missing vital pieces). The pool area has so much potential but it is extremely tired and I wouldn't feel comfortable with the kids or ourselves swimming in it. The lake advertised for kayaking is putrid and the kayaks are broken.
The Kooralbyn is located in a beautiful and tranquil area of Queensland. The staff were friendly, the meals at the local tavern were fresh and reasonably priced, and there was an abundance of local wildlife to watch. The walk between the tavern and the accommodation is lovely. The beds were comfortable, linen clean, and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The airconditioning and heating worked well.

AustraliaA bigger fridge would be better and the ability to have a toaster oven/ sandwich press or other cooking appliance without threat and actuality of setting off alarms would be helpful.
This is a funny place to stay. You can see that it was a posh 5 star place in its day however its lost its lusters somewhat.

AustraliaFood options were limited which is understandable in the location. Went to the buffet and was only just on par. Wished we would have just had dinner pool side. All in all friendly staff dated properly but needs a bit of TLC. Would have been a very grand hotel back in the day but still has the functionality of what could be a very nice modern place to stay.
The pool was dated but was very enjoyable kids loved the variety of pools as did us parents.

AustraliaThe air cond was only just bearable and should have been a lot cooler to improve our sleep. The hot/cold water was very difficult to control as the water was either very hot and very cold - maybe needs a new mixer rm 309.
The breakfast was excellent - the facility looked tired but it was clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

AustraliaCleanliness left a lot to be desired, facilities are very rundown and even some unsafe, especially in the pool area. Rooms and balconies also require some pest control. There was dried paint on the sheets. A lot of rubbish left around from other guests, which is a shame in this location where there is wildlife everywhere.
Lots to do and great location

AustraliaOn arrival we were put into a disabled room with a broken toilet, stain on the couch and dirty plates/glass/cutlery. Then we were moved to another room that had not been made up as yet when we opened the door, we were then moved to a room with broken a/c and the room was very hot until after dark. The tap was also hanging on its hinges, but overall the room was much better than the previous rooms. In the morning, a cleaner did not knock on the door and entered without checking it was safe to, while my partner and I were still nude and in bed. It was somewhat a shock and embarrassing, we are unsure how this could have happened and why the team member didn't knock first with a warning "housekeeping" like other resorts we have stayed previously. At night, vending machines might be good to have on the outside of the reception or in an obvious place if there are some currently as the area is so remote. The staff listened to our feedback and were very understanding and as helpful as possible, which we appreciated from them.
The character and vibe of the establishment was nice. The staff were friendly and understanding. The overall room cleanliness of the room we finally ended up in was good, the sheets were clean and bed was comfortable. The tavern was a good vibe and had well priced food/drinks and atmosphere for grand final night. It appeared that many guests were golfers as the golf course is very good here. The pool area was also very nice. The views on sunset from our balcony were stunning.

AustraliaThe place is secluded, and you may start feeling bored after a day or two at most. I was looking to spend some time in the Australian countryside, but you can't really get a sense of the countryside in this place.
The best thing about the place is the breakfast at the restaurant, where you can enjoy variety and friendly staff.
