How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

As I stayed an additional night a day prior to this booking had already paid a 'holding fee'. Had to pay a second fee when I came back one day later. This original fee was held far longer than initially indicated with no explanation, or reason. The hotel ended up holding over $500, which ended up impacting my holiday
That breakfast was included in the price. Having access to an on-site pool. Housekeeping were really great

Although cleaners came daily floor wasn’t cleaned as sand stayed on our carpet for days. Also no small table & chair to sit on balcony

The rooms were tired with some peeling laminate. The hotel said the balconies could not be sat on without a clear explanation as to why. The breakfast was standard fare, nothing outstanding
The position is unbeatable. Short walk to the beach and the Scarborough beach pool and cafes and shops etc. It was an oasis in the midst of a heatwave. The pool was great. The views were amazing. the rooms were very spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

Staff are quite rude. Some of the communal areas and the room are quite tatty and worn out. The corridor smelt of vomit. The room was stripped bare of any extras eg no plugs for bath or sink towel rail missing only 1 facecloth provided, no slippers or robe or extra pillows or blankets no miniature milks just seems a bit stingy for a nice hotel. The aircon wasn't adjustable I think it was broken. The view over the busy road is miserable. Room service food wasn't very nice and overpriced.
The pool was a lovely place to cool down on a hot day children love it. Can't beat the location next to the beach. Nice to have the option of room service if you need it. Beds really comfy.

Have stayed before and cleanliness definitely wasn't as good this time around. We booked a room for 3 adults for a week and we only got one face washer and 3 sachets of coffee and 1 tiny milk. Instead of making us ask each day for coffee etc it would of been a nice attention to detail if they look at the booking when preparing the room. Under the beds where dirty and when the sheet come off the Donna there was some stains, so don't think they are washed everytime. They also removed the seats from the balcony so no where to sit and enjoy the outside which is a bit of a shame. Parking is expensive also I wish it was included in room price. Tv's need an update so people can use there own streaming services.
Have stayed before. We really like the location and the pool is fantastic. The beds are also comfortable, rooms have very basic stuff but still fine for a short stay.

No table or chair on balcony Pool needs more shade and pool bar wasn't open until 1pm on a 42 degree day. Should provide free water. Would be good if they also served light meals. Cleaner barged into my room while asleep at 4.50pm. Sign was not on the door

Cleaning was substandard, failed to restock minibar each day and didn’t clean on 2 days of our stay. When cleaning was completed it was very late afternoon.

My only complaint is that the observation deck was closed as I would have liked to have seen the view as my room was on the first floor
It's a spacious hotel so I'm sure even if it's full you would not notice The reception staff were very professional but I did not deal with any one else The pool area was clean and tidy The hotel room was more than big enough and the bathroom was good too
