Have not seen anyone at the reception desk during our 4 days stay, except a person at our arrival time who helped to keep our luggage (as we arrived before the check-in time). He was not pleasant. No Services (new towels etc) offered and tea, coffee, toilet paper etc. were not enough for 4 days stay.

location is nice. Easy access to restaurants, Cairns Central Shopping mall and to Esplanade (with a 20-30min walk).

Nice balcony with good airflow through the apartment did not have to use aircon much. Close to shops.

No info about public bus services and /or timetables. Guests have to learn the hard way about public transport. Replacement remote for the Samsung TV was hard to operate.

Pipes from water heater made loud knocking noise several times at night. Pool was tiny, more of a water feature & ran under entrance driveway.

It had an unpleasant odour, and the rattan furniture was uncomfortable. TV was a very small screen.

Location was excellent, with public transport only a few minutes walk away, and very convenient. Apartment although somewhat dated, was very clean. Manager informed me that they are about to undertake major renovation/upgrade, which will bring it up to todays standards. Manager was very friendly as was his partner, and refunded two weeks of our stay when we shortened our stay due to a worry over Covid 19 restrictions without any hassles, as the Qld Covid situation had the potential to have prevented a seamless return to our home state.

There was constant noise from maybe a pool filter next door and also mystery big banging noises through the night. I have no idea what that was. A little too far from town.

Owners/management lack people skills. Don't have time to describe all the examples of their unprofessional arguments and even some smart comments. Only one roll of toilet paper provided. No salt, pepper and oil, which is normally provided in self-contained apparments. There was no hair-dryer in the apparment even though was listed, as included. When I called the owner (around 8pm) to ask about it I was told that I was supposed to get it from the reception during the day, but there was no instruction to tell you so in advance. There was power outage on our first night from 11pm until 6.30am, but there was no storm outside at all, only a bit of rain. The aircon wasn't on either, only a couple of lights. There was some occasional nocking noise coming from the laundry area.

Very clean, specious place. The kitchen is a bit outdated (stove burners in particular), but everything was functional. Nice big balcony. Quiet appartment block.

We didn’t see any staff members, had to phone someone on checkin to let us in the room. So little introduction on accomodation or times gate would be closed. The accomodation is very basic

Booked through Booking.com for 2 nights. I should have booked 3 nights so I called Royal Palms and the man sniffed all the time. Said I needed extra night and I’d pay when I got there. Arrived at reception but sign said their either up stairs or out the back and call this number. I called and man started sniffing again. Booking.com had stated no stairs and only a walk in shower, but put on top floor. I said no as one of us cannot do stairs due to a medical condition. So he said he didn’t have that information from Booking.com and I shouldn’t book with a third party. Anyway given a room on ground floor. Had to pay for the extra night with card over phone. Then I had to stand in front of villa door and he opened remotely. Key was on kitchen bench. He said room wasn’t ready. We went away and came back an hour later. The room smelled, dead cockroach on the floor, the 4 coffee mugs were sooooo disgusting with lots of stains inside them, Rang man who got a women to bring new cups. She inspected the stained mugs. Then went to walk out with only 2 of them. I said aren’t you taking them all to clean and she said no just these two, the others are ok, no they weren’t! Anyway the shower had long black hair in it, the walls of shower hadn’t been cleaned in months, shower curtain had lots of mould at the bottom, tile missing on shower floor, toilet bowl inside had long black hair, the sink hadn’t been cleaned very well whatsoever, mould around sink outlet, the dryer lint catcher hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, mould on walls in bedroom, the lamp shade had mould all over it, outside bedroom window 2 clothes airers with bath towels, face washers, hand towels and sheets, one sheet on the ground, all stayed there for 3 days. The parking area needed cleaning of vegetation. Wet mop and bucket outside of our villa door for 3 days. Never seen a single person whatsoever in reception the whole time. The villa needs a deep clean to bring it up to a healthy and acceptable

the apartment was not clean. I was only given 1 towel for 2 days, no thick blanket for my bed just a sheet and a throw that was uncomfortable and old. the aircon was filthy, and could not keep both rooms cool. no aircon in the bedroom just one in the living room which is expected to keep the whole unit cool. massive crack in the cement in the roof that then goes down the wall. which I am almost certain is structurally unsafe. the fan is not even straight which indicates to me the ceiling is not level. there was dust everywhere in the apartment which kicked my hay fever in. now the owners of the building. I rang at 1:15 asking if my room was ready early as I arrived early. I was told no very rudely and then the phone was hung up on. when checking in no one was in reception. she was not happy when I said no she cannot use the card used to make the booking she then had to come to the apartment to check me in. absolutely no hospitality or customer service. I will not stay here again.

the unit itself was very dark & dingy with just a view of a wooden fence. pool very small & there are no grounds to relax in. Main complaint is the dishonesty of leading guests to believe the office is open & staffed. we had to phone to be checked in & wait for someone off site to let us in. later had to phone for wifi password as this was not made known. signs are up offering a booking service for local attractions but no one there to do this. Information booklet in the room is very out of date & has the names of previous owners. All in all a very disappointing experience.

fitzroy island a joke walk to nudey beach be aware you will need a level of fitness for that it steep up hills the other trails advise y ou that a high level of fitness is required so we gave them miss in our 60s hot drink machine not working in cafe on arrival not open for lunch till 1130 but you can get takeaway at resort not allowed to eat there though over all give it a miss unless you like hiking i booked with booking .com thinking i booked with an activity pass to paddle an picnic lunch to find i had niether so i returned on the very first ferry so dissapointed i booked a tour arround cairs for tuesday morning walked into town centre no tour guide showed i msged him got a response wrong number rang the guide he wasnt even in cairns and told me he wasnt on bookin.com.either later msging me their was a glitch not advising him him of bookings offering a disscount but were heading off after our charter with gone fishing which was the only highlight of our trip jacob made it really woth going out on booking .com i think is a disgrace im still waiting for the caberateand tour giude money to be refunded

nothing about cairns turned me on accomadation was dirty tiles and mould in bathroom blackI.I dont know who the cleaners are but i wouldnt hire them, 2 power points for kettle and toaster but only 1 worked, security door on balcony missing screws and notices on doors from police advising you not to venture out after dark huge big steel lock over your entrance door to stop it from being kicked in, no fan in shower but when you open the window to let steam out the tenant above you sitting on their balcony looks right in. they ask you to keep the unit clean but the squeagy mop is falling to peices no dishwahing liquid to wash with 1 towel each for 6 nights an 1 and a half toilet rolls people sceaming out at night others coming into yard looking in the car windows with torches because the main gate doesnt shut harrasment at shop for money or smokes by locals, indian food close by full of liquid not sure it was chicken in my meal it didnt taste to good the pedros pizza was cardboard over all queenslanders dont know how to cook fncs .Cairns highly overeated i would have gladly stayed in townsville for my whole 10 day vacation
