How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Could have done with more amenities in the bathroom, some artwork on the wall or something to bring some life into the room, and clean the balcony

Breakfast was really average. Room was big and comfortable but we had to ask for the sheets to be changed. Bathroom got very wet outside of the shower area Furniture in the room was not confortable and there was no real furniture on the balcony to enjoy the view

When I booked this hotel I was under the impression is was "Beachfront" or on the beach - It isn't but I don't think there are any hotels on the beach but I paid for and got a good beach view over the restaurant and over the beachfront restaurants across the street.
The room and hotel were great - the room was large and clean and I enjoyed the large balcony. The Bathroom was a good size and again clean. The breakfast buffet was varied and plenty of fresh food. The staff were helpful and professional at all times.

For the price you’d expect better care of building. Tiles missing in bathroom & no apps on tv Very fancy lobby but attention to detail disappears outside lobby. There were finger prints on the glass table in room. The room was clean but hadn’t been freshly cleaned before I checked in. Not 5 star luxury hotel , but great middle range hotel
View is great. Right in the middle of town centre with ocean views. Very comfy big bed. Oversized room

It was not really possible to dine in the evening. On the first night there was a wedding function and the second night loud music. However, there are plenty of eating places outside and the staff explained that it is a bar/dining area.

As above - bit tired.
Location is great. First room we were allocated had cobwebs and smelled funny so requested a new room - got an upgrade to a higher level room and also got a view. That was a lovely room. Hotel is a bit tired though and could do with a refurb - especially given the money you pay. Overall was good.

Our original room had quite a few bugs in it, and a slight smell. But we were moved to a new, much better room when I mentioned this to the front desk staff. The rooms are quite expensive even for a lower room with a view of a back alley
The staff were extremely friendly at the front desk and very helpful. When we had a problem with our room initially, they upgraded us immediately and apologised profusely. The new room was extremely nice and very clean with a great view.

Despite being not very high the view was nice. The staff were very friendly and made our anniversary feel special. Staff also went above and beyond to call me about leaving something behind in the room.

The hotel parking is haphazard when there is high demand. The rooms could use a set of drawers or guests staying more than 1 night.
The location is fantastic, can't be faulted. Ideal for access to several beaches and walking around the headland promenade. Easy walking access to local shops and restaurants, easy walking access to the train to get to Miranda Westfields. The views over the ocean from the room, and between the trees from the restaurant are beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate.
