How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast very ordinary but rooms comfortable and the restaurant only open in the evenings 4 days a week which was disappointing. No bar within the hotel for guests to use later in the evening. The bar on the street is extremely bleak and unwelcoming.
Location excellent for Southbank activities. Rooms roomy and comfortable although bathrooms are very small.

It was overpriced for the value, paying for the name's sake, but we had a great time.
All of the staff are great. The customer service and location were excellent, South Bank, QPAC, markets, etc. were all within walking distance.

Few facilities unlike comparable hotels in other cities. For the price, no information sheet in the room, no writing materials (a biro would at least have been useful) we had to ring reception for Wifi info and the ironing board was rickety. On top of which I severely injured one of my toes on the metal door stop which is unhelpfully placed right where you access the wardrobe. I understand the need for a door stop but doubt that it's location would be considered safe.

The room was delightfully clean and very comfortable. We were attending a show at the Exhibition and Convention Centre so were happy to discover that the hotel was connected to the venue. The bed was very comfortable. We dined downstairs at CBD Cafe for dinner and breakfast. Location was perfect for exploring South Bank. Plenty of restaurants and attractions close by.

there was only one occasion where the service front of house was not up to standard. A totally unsmiling young female concierge dealt with my request for a tea spoon (there were none in my room) and more teabags (there was one) with sullenness that beggared belief. Let me hasten to add that ALL other staff were excellent. Oh yes all three bars shut at an early hour (8pm for two, and around 10pm for the last) very poor considering it was Friday and Saturday.

The only thing I don't like is that you supply us a kettle for a cuppa but I can't get the kettle under the tap in the bathroom to fill it.
I love the location and the view, staff are great. This is our 3rd stay ...very relaxing

Only 2 towels for the 3 of us on the first night. I ordered 1 more through the app (which was going to cost $4) and it never showed up (the next day when we got back to our room after house keeping had arrived, there was now 4 towels in our room which was better. Upon arrival, we asked for Valet to have our car ready for 830am the next morning and they wrote it down, however the next morning, our car was not ready and they had to send someone to go get it (However that evening we again asked for it to be ready at 830 the next morning and it was there this time). There's about 1000 pillows in the room but they're all the same thin pillow. Would have liked some options with there being so many pillows..
Location was amazing. Bathroom was great. Room was quite large and night time view was quite good.
