How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing to dislike, but maybe some biscuits to have with a cuppa would be nice. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers were nearly empty so couldn't use them. I addressed this with front of house on departure and they took note.
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious. We explored the pool area and it looked inviting.

The bathroom needed updating, especially the door which had peeling paint and a chipped vanity. Also poor water pressure in the shower.

Bed was a bit too soft, room was a bit stuffy with the air con on constantly, but we understand this can’t be helped.
Close to central station, walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Bathroom modern and clean, shower good water pressure and hot. Electric kettle was good to have.

I was unimpressed with house keeping who seemed more interested in leaving for the day than fixing the room. I was travelling for wok and believe the room was cleaned - beds made up, towels changed once in the 5 days I was there. I also notice a charge from my card that I do not recognise. I was also a little disappointed that on our last morning, due a planes being landed and having to stay an extra night, we went for breakfast and had to pay. We had paid for breakfast for the entirety of our stay. I think given the lack of housekeeping, it would have been a nice gesture. I was not impressed by the morning restaurant manager who made sure I paid even though we only arrived for breakfast 15 minutes prior to closing, and who loudly suggested to her colleagues they would eat close breakfast after the guests had left. Not that I think it should go to waste, but if you can spare such expense, then to do so for guests would have been a kind thing to do. Particularly as we were forced to stay the extra night.
All night concierge was very handy.

Stained shower and price for what you received, it was good but could be better. They need more lifts to accommodate the pilots and hostesses, took 10 mins just to get to our room waiting for the lift and having them all just jump in the elevator leaving us waiting for another one.

Needed to offer an a la carte breakfast, as not everyone benefits from a buffet. We just wanted eggs on toast one morning and just toast the others. There should be an option to eat in the dinning area for a la carte breakfast so you dont have to just eat in your room with room service which was the only way to order a la carte.
Rooms were large. Small details were considered, coffee cups, drinking glasses, hairdryer, etc all in room. Bed was super comfortable, excellent mattress. Great location, 5 min walk to public transport.

The cleaness could be better. Quite dusty on the tables, or corners and drawers in the bathroom, especially behind the sink.
The location is convenient, walking distance to the city central and the bus station. Cafes are around, china town can be reached within 10 mins walk. Staff were helpful and made the check-in process easy as.

Rooms, especially bathrooms, showing their age. Terrible wifi, not worth using. Limited dining options. Very noisy aircon, even turned off there was still AC noise from adjacent rooms.

The constant damp smell in our room was terrible . We were given no assistance with our luggage . And check in staff were not very friendly.breakfast staff were lovely .Also were not given a bath mat last day getting out of a bath shower with nothing on the floor is dangerous.

We’re not happy that the price on the booking.com was $808 for two night but was hiked up to $820 for Easter surcharge. I mean it’s already hiked up for Easter weekend and then another surcharge that wasn’t even on booking.com. That’s not cool!
The stay is comfortable and the pool is nice.

We requested seperate beds at booking and confirmed at check in. No seperate beds. We asked if we could get it fixed before leaving at 3pm. When we returned at 11pm, it had still not been addressed. Minor issue But one that took a long time to fix when it perhaps shouldn't have
Great Venue. Was travelling with a guest with mobility issues and the accessible rooms were excellent as was accessibility in general. Staff were all lovely.

It didn't seem the A/C worked well in our room.
The spa was amazing when we had the opportunity to relax there without children around. (Not hotels fault). Also, the location was perfect, and staff were super friendly.

I always know what to expect and where I am going from their location it’s close to the bus, trains etc and an easy walk to most places in central area too. Urber’s are usually not to bad either.
We stay here all the time when in Sydney - usually for Leisure or medical one or the other. Of late we have stayed there twice in the last 2 months.
