The Statesman has undergone an extensive renovation and the tech used is good.... if it works! The in-house Wifi is required to cast from your phone to the TV. But, the Wifi was pretty intermittent. The room was very clean, except for a serious amount of dust that had built up on the built-in headboard. I'm not sure why that would be overlooked as it seems to have accumulated over time. The new signage could do with a "stage 2". The sign indicating where rooms 8-15 are can't actually be seen until you walk down that corridor. There doesn't seem to be (or at least not obvious) any sign pointing to the carpark access keypad.

The room was "roomy" with two separate areas/bedroom. The technology was good, with no onsite staff, the check-in was all remote and worked well, but I did end up helping two other couples work out how to access their room/carpark. For the price paid, all expectations were met.

Could not get all the channels on the TV as the Menu was locked. Leak at window due to the heavy downfall but was able to use a towel which worked well.

Moving a 10-15 kg bag between the security parking area & rooms on the upper level was slow & awkward-a simple elevator would be helpful for more ‘senior’ clients. A fly screen on the balcony doors would much improve the ambience of the rooms to leave the door open & save you money on a/c. The dining area is noisy to eat with friends-too many hard & reflective surfaces. The security gate to the parking did not work on a few nights I was there.

Bkfst good & simple & quick. Location is excellent & handy to facilities, friends & places to visit. The renovation is going well & the rooms significantly improved with a face-lift. I enjoyed the coupe of meals I had from the bistro & the beer selections from the bar were good to bring a few mates.

They offer room service, but what they don't tell you is that it's only for cleaning the bathroom and changing the towels. They only make your bed every 3 days, so if you're staying for a shorter duration, they won't do it (although they don't inform you about this upfront—I only found out when I asked after noticing my room was untidy). There's no safety box or any secure storage for valuable items. There's no receptionist, but they respond to your messages. Additionally, there is no elevator.

The bed was big and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and nice. The location was good, with a café downstairs and a bar/restaurant next door. The hotel offers a few free locked parking spots; however, there are plenty of free parking spaces nearby in case those are full. The neighborhood also seemed safe.

Clean room, private undercover parking, nice balcony. Digital entry and online check in. Restaurant with indoor and outdoor dinning and sports bar with small cafe available. Very good option and fair price. Stayed 1 night.

The staff, at one point was rude, and we felt that as the check in and check out was online, we did not have people to ask different questions like where to go and important places to visit.

We were close to the wedding we were attending. The bed & sofa bed were very comfortable. The staff, especially the lady who was at the bar on New Years Day who looked after us with cappuccinos deserves a raise. I would suggest though that you check the S bend in the shower in Room 36 as the water seemed to back up a bit when showering. But all in all, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Cheers!

The checkin was a bit confusing but that might be it was public holiday when we arrived so no one was around to assist aside from calling which as hard to understand. Only thing I would add is to let guest now that other people are around them not too my making loud voice at 2am. The room (Room40) next to yours was soo inconsiderate with his lady friends with out of this world laughing in the 2am ish and had to go tell them to keep it down as I was trying to sleep and he was sooo rude to me that I felt anxious/scared but calmed down eventually after calling my sister to complain to that night.

The location was great to the tourist site, Cole’s and other shops.

The online check in system is the worst I have ever experienced. The lag in the messaging and the lack of feedback is bad. Also my daughter's room had the door code reset in 24 hours so we are not sure what is going on with the electronic combination locks.

There were NO staff to assist log in. Inadequate milk, only 4 little 10ml pots for 3 days. And I arrived with a walking stick and was given a room at the top of about 20 steps. There was no reception to whom I could appeal these deficiencies. Which spoiled my stay and has lowered my opinion of the hotel from the time when there was a reception desk and we clients were addressed by name not a number like a prisoner.
