Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMashed potatoes. I would have liked a hook in bathroom to hang toiletry bag.
We had only one breakfast at hotel as we left on early hikes before breakfast most days. The food was generally good except for mashed potatoes. These seemed to be made far in advance of serving and were revolting and gluggy. We liked the stir fry the best either with or without chicken. The wines we had with dinner were also nice. Coffee good. We loved staying inside the park.

AustraliaBoth of our rooms did not have enough toilet paper. If they were to leave so little on the toilet roll then there should be a spare in the cupboard. Toilet paper is not something you need to ask for.

AustraliaBe warned you may not have phone coverage, so may have to drive a few km up the road to make a call. Take your own entertainment because the rooms do not have TVs and the restaurant and bar close about 7pm. Lots of stairs, no lift. As mentioned none of this was a bother for me, but I noticed from the reviews many people seem to expect a range of things not advertised.
This is a 'bare bones' type of accommodation, but I knew what to expect from past reviews, and it was ideal for two days of walking from Charlote Pass. Staff were friendly, food was fine and the bedrooms were decked out for its main purpose: a night's sleep. Location was perfect and I noted nothing else in the area appeared to be operating.

AustraliaI wasn’t aware it was a $70 ride each way to Charlottes Pass and seperate lift pass for those lifts. The food was average boring. Too far from Perisher to find a cheaper alternative or walk to Perisher to use my season pass.
Great room with a fantastic view of the slopes, a 2 min walk to the lifts. Surrounded by snow, isolated away from Perisher.

AustraliaWe stayed in a room that had a door that leads to another room. The person staying in the other side of the door was noisy and as there was a door between us we could here everything he says and does all night and early in the morning.
The property was very convenient as it had a bistro that provided breakfast , lunch and dinner. The property was clean and it was so close to the chair lift.

AustraliaThe menu was fine but, given it was the only eatery available, and the lunch menu was the same as the dinner menu, after 4 nights we were looking forward to something other than mexican and pizza. The day we arrived we were told there were other eateries but we soon found out that the only other one functioning was $60 per person so, pretty much all that was available was the one at Stillwell. The food was delicious - the Chefs do an awesome job with flavours - but it was just too repetative. I did wonder how inspiring the Chef's found their jobs. The equipment only went up to size 14 and my son takes a size 15 so we had to hire down in Jindabyne and juggle the equipment along with us. The rooms are very tired and in need of an upgrade. I'm not that fussy but the stay was very expensive so I would have expected more. The beds had dip in them and were very hard. I tossed and turned every night and had little sleep. There was no fridge in the room. I'm diabetic and have to carry medications that require refrigeration so I had to put my medication on the window sill so it was cooled by the outdoors. There was a kettle provided by it was tucked on a shelf in the cupboard and the only place available to boil the kettle was on the bedside table. It probably would have been easier to have tea and coffee making down in the dining room. All the way along with my communications with the Charlotte Pass Resort, they assured me that they take walk-ons for the chair lift - I ordered and paid for lift passes and, on the day we decided to take the ride to the top (even the staff at the place where you buy the lift passes told us to go and see the crew on the lift between 1pm and 3pm to enter as walk-ons) the chairlift operator told us that it was his chairlift and his decision and he wasn't taking walk-ons and hadn't so far for the season.
The location was amazing and it was even snowing (quite heavy at times during our stay) for a lot of the time we were there. It was lovely to watch my son experiencing snow for the first time - a very special memory. The heating on the floor in the bathroom was a little bit of luxury.

AustraliaNo bar fridge. No small bottle red wine selection (a merlot was available, nothing else). Every sound from the neighbouring room can be heard through the connecting door - all spoken conversation, the wake-up alarm, the kettle boiling, the ensuite exhaust fan, the shower, the shutters, everything.
Food was great. Heated ensuite floor was great.

AustraliaWe missed having the convenience of a mini-fridge in our rooms.
For summer hiking in the alpine areas, the location is perfect. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Although small, our recently renovated rooms were light and airy with very comfortable beds. There are good shared or public spaces inside and outside the hotel. Excellent value for money.
